The Olds Motor Vehicle Co. was founded by Ransom E. Olds in 1897 and by 1903 was the top selling car company in the United States. Ransom Olds left the company in 1904 and formed REO Motor cars. General Motors purchased the company in 1908. The Oldsmobile line survived the Great Depression by providing solid, well-engineered vehicles for the money and in 1934, GM made a serious commitment to the brand with a major investment in plant tooling and shipping facilities. This stunning 1934 eight-cylinder L-34 convertible coupe is a crowning example of this dedication to quality. Quite rare when new, only a handful of these models are known to exist. In addition to the very cool rumble seat, design features include painted wheel accents, a Haartz cloth top with optional rear window opening, dual side-mounted spares, windshield wipers wide whitewall tires. Styling features are truly unique and tasteful from the wood grain dash, rare temperature gauge insert shift knob to the Art-Deco inspired “Goddess” radiator mascot. This rare beauty is truly a serious collector car, but asks to be driven and the smooth running inline-8 starts and runs like a top. This historic 1934 Olds is located in our Milwaukee showroom.
