Gateway Classic Cars of Houston have an excellent opportunity to own one of the most sought after and value increasing vehicles out there. A 1957 Volkswagen Bug! The Volkswagen Beetle - officially the Volkswagen Type 1, informally in Germany the Käfer (German, "beetle") and in the English-speaking world the Bug - is a two-door, four passengers, rear-engine economy car manufactured and marketed by German automaker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003. Throughout the production years of these cars they made in incredible 21,529,464. The success of the Volkswagen Beetle was something that shocked so many people.
This one is a beautiful & fully restored from the ground up and finished in canary yellow & white. The bumpers, trim, emblems, & glass are restored back to original condition. The paint finish is of high quality and shows very well. The hub caps are in excellent condition and they look great as a color matched to the car. The interior is in superb condition with the white vinyl contrasting very well against the yellow.
Powering this little beetle down the road is a rebuilt 1200cc 4-cylinder engine that has a fresh rebuild on it with less than 500 miles on it since then. It is paired to a smooth shifting & very reliable VW 4-speed manual transmission.
This one is the rarer & more desirable “oval” window beetle. You will find it difficult to many of these available at all and even harder to find one this nice. The Volkswagen Beetle was massively popular and has been since its introduction as with many early Bugs, this one is fairly limited as far as features go. It’s more about the driving experience and unique looks. You will be happy to know that this one has seat belts though. The car will come with a full photo album of the restoration process that was completed less than 500 miles ago. This is one of the best examples we have seen and it won’t last long at this competitive price point.
