Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is happy to present to you this gorgeous 1923 Ford T-Bucket which has a ton of character. Model Ts were hot-rodded and customized from the 1920s on, but the T-bucket was specifically created and named by Norm Grabowski in the 1950s. This car was named Lightning Bug, better known as the Kookie Kar, after being redesigned by Grabowski and appearing in the TV show 77 Sunset Strip, driven by character Gerald "Kookie" Kookson.
The first thing you will notice about the car is the beautiful purple-blue paint job from House of Colors. This is complimented by the well matched purple vinyl interior seating surfaces. The top is in great condition and matches the color scheme of the car. The fenders for the rear tires are in great shape and are free from any spider cracks. The rear trunk is padded and in good condition while hiding the battery underneath. The interior is in excellent condition and is free from any tears or rips. Aftermarket gauges in the dash, with a CD player with Bluetooth is mounted under the dash.
This one is powered by a 351 CID V8 crate motor ordered from Jegs and 2-speed powerglide transmission that was built by Exner Racing which makes this little bucket extremely fast by anyone’s standards. It has an old school solid front axle with front disc brakes showing behind the wire wheels. Some sweet long tube headers with a 4into1 collector that are the side pipe exhaust of the car that sends shockwaves down the street.
