For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is a 1999 Ferrari 355 F1 Spider. This Ferrari is powered by a very impressive 3.5 liter V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods and dry sump oiling system make a screaming 375 horsepower at almost 8,500 rpm and oh what a sound! Truly, music to the ears. The transmission is called the F1 due to its technology derived from the Formula 1 race cars. This is still considered a manual transmission but uses an electronically controlled clutch to give the car lightening quick shifts. There is no clutch pedal, only two paddles behind the steering wheel. 0-60 only takes 4.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile just under 13 seconds. 1999 was the last year for the F355 making it the most sought after model year and was the replacement for the 348 and the predecessor to the 360. This would be the last year for pop up headlights making it more collectible than the newer 360. Painted in an unmistakable Fly Yellow with black leather seats and complimented with a black cloth soft top and sharp 18" aluminum wheels. Options include power seats, traction control, power top, electronically adjustable suspension and a Challenge rear grill. The Challenge rear grill was more of a screen to let air pass through the rear of the car and not create drag from built up turbulence. To call this car a sports car would be an understatement. This is as much fun as you can have without spending the night in jail, or maybe if you're not careful, you will. This example has covered just under 12,000 miles and is in very nice condition. One common issue found on 355s is a gummy or sticky center console area, this one is in great condition with no signs of trouble.
