1947 Buick Woody Wagon

1947 Buick Woody Wagon

Engine: 248 CID OHV Inline 8 Cylinder
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 36791 ( undocumented )

Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a super rare and 1947 Buick Woodie Wagon! While Buick’s postwar lineup was still based upon its prewar designs, the mildly revised 1946–1948 models garnered very strong public favor nonetheless. With the proven overhead valve Dynaflash straight eight, fully coil-sprung suspensions, and Harley Earl-supervised styling with fade-away front fenders, broad grilles, and remarkably restrained bright-trim accents, these cars remain collector staples today. During that era, the Series 50 Super Estate Wagon, with handsome Woodie bodywork by Michigan’s Ionia Manufacturing Company, topped Buick’s mid-tier offerings with a factory price of nearly $2,600. Just 2,036 of them, including five for export, were produced for 1947. This Woodie is a Series 50; Model 59, 110-hp, 248-cid OHV Dynaflash inline eight-cylinder engine with three-speed column-mounted manual transmission. The rarity of this vehicle in todays market makes this beautiful Buick a real gem. The history of this Buick has left its footprint in automotive history and will always be a high value vehicle. The wood accents on the vehicle are in pristine condition and have no splits and show very well. Every bit of this Buick screams nostalgia and has an unforgettable presence and it belongs in a museum or your very own private collection. This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of automotive history. For more information on this Buick Woodie Wagon, please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or call to speak with one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales staff 313-982-3100 or email us at Detroit@GatewayClassicCars.com.

1950 Ford Woody

1950 Ford Woody

Engine: 351 Windsor V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 80875 ( undocumented )

A great deal of time, money, and effort has gone into making this old Ford Woody the perfect cruiser! After the second (current) owner purchased the car back in February of 1988 it was driven for a few years before it underwent a restoration of the wood panels on the car in 1994. Taking over a year to complete by a professional, the woodwork has held up nicely and, to this day it still looks great! Under the hood sits a 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 with only 2,500 miles put on since the professional rebuild by a reputable racing shop. The front suspension was replaced with Mustang II components providing a much nicer ride and premium control. As you slide into the interior that was reupholstered back in 2005, you will feel as if you were transported to a different era. A time in history where it was deemed “okay” to make most of the panels out of wood! Fire up that big V8, drop the transmission into drive, and start to cruise! You can almost hear the “Endless Summer” album by The Beach Boys, playing from the aftermarket stereo. The ride quality is very comfortable and feels safe even at higher speeds. The rack and pinion steering is smooth and much more precise than stock, and the disc brakes will stop you quickly. Everywhere you go, this old Ford is sure to turn heads and be a crowd pleaser! This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1950 Ford Woody in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1956 Chevrolet Nomad LS1

1956 Chevrolet Nomad LS1

Engine: 5.7L LS1
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 1450 ( since rebuilt )

There was a time when this 1956 Chevrolet Nomad would have been overlooked for its hardtop siblings, but that day is long gone. Today the Nomad is near the top of every Chevy fan's wish list, and this gorgeous wagon gets a lot of things right: great colors, gorgeous interior, and a fully sorted LS1 drive train that offers more power and more comfort than you could get from the factory in 1956. There's no denying the handsome good looks of this 2-door wagon the simple '56 is the best-looking of the Tri-Five Chevys. This one also carries upscale Bel Air trim (which was the only way you could get a Nomad) that includes that dramatic side spear and all the chrome has been refinished to show standards, so it truly sparkles in the sun. Cross-country haulers just don't get much better than this. The interior has been nicely upgrades with factory seats wearing leather that looks amazing. Things like the dashboard, headliner, door panels and carpets are all nicely upgraded as well, the steering wheel is a wood-rimmed unit that's on a tilt column, and there are little vents tucked under the dash for the modern A/C system which blows ice cold. There's also an AM/FM/AUX radio that sounds pretty darned good and the gauges have been converted to digital. The cargo bay is correctly finished and offers a good deal of storage space, making this a fantastic road trip candidate. The engine is still technically a small block Chevy V8, but the 5.7 liter LS1 V8 from Street and Performance is a far cry from the original 265. It obviously fits beautifully and thanks to fuel injection and hardware, it's as reliable as your daily driver and quite a bit more powerful. The suspension uses OEM parts wherever possible to ensure reliability and easy service. A 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is a big part of the reason this car is such a pleasure to drive and the recent dual exhaust system has a pleasant burble at idle and just enough of an edge on the roll to let you know this isn't a stock Nomad. The undercarriage is quite clean and includes 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, Power brakes and 17-inch Chrome 5 Spoke wheels wearing 245/45/17 front and rear performance radials. With only 1450 Miles on this restored, it has been fully sorted and ready to enjoy, this car just works like it should. With great looks, a wonderful color combination, and that timeless Nomad appeal, this car delivers in a big way. For additional information on this 1956 Nomad, email us at dallas@gatewayclassiccars.com or call 817-310-9400.The interior has been nicely upgrades with factory seats wearing leather that looks amazing. This 57 has been built to enjoy and drive on a daily basis while taking it to high level car shows on the weekend. After a long and well thought out 5 year build the transformation was complete. The body was taken off the original frame and taken down to bare metal before being placed on a powder coated custom frame. The copper gold paint is slick and looks great while keeping with that classic 57 look. Using C4 corvette suspension the ride is sporty with the Bilstein shocks handling anything you can throw at it. The rack and pinion steering is crisp and light feeling with the custom wheels adding to the look and feel. With 4 wheel disc brakes bringing everything to halt in a hurry. Under the hood is all business with aFuel Injected Ram Jet 502 crate motor filling up the engine bay perfectly. Outfitted with Sanderson headers the exhaust note lets everyone know that there is no small block under that hood. Keeping everything at the right temp is an all-aluminum Be Cool Radiator that looks as good as it works. The 4l80e transmission routes the power to a Dana 44 rear end which has a set of 3.45’s in it making this a well suited highway hauler. The interior is a mix of classic and new with the painted dash filled with a set of custom gauges look great while being super functional. The white and black bench seat is period correct with the matching door panels tying it all together. Of course, the power windows are always nice especially when it gets a little too hot and the AC needs to be kicked on. Options on this 1957 Chevrolet Nomad include AC, AM/FM, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, and Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. 1957 Chevrolet Nomad

1957 Chevrolet Nomad

Engine: 283 CID V-8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 14021 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is a very cool 1957 Chevrolet Nomad. Tri-Fives have become a symbol of Americana. From four doors, to two doors, to wagons, and convertibles, they're are loveable and enjoyable in their own way. Perhaps the most sought after, is the two door wagon known as a Nomad. The Nomad has a sleeker and sportier look than most wagons with its tilted forward B-Pillars and dramatic sloping rear tailgate. There's no question this sporty wagon has a beautiful silhouette that a whole generation can relate to. This particular Nomad has been spruced up with some tasteful touches, and undergone a very extensive restoration. The exterior is finished in a deep, dark black, with gorgeous stainless bright work down the sides. You would never believe it was done in the early 90’s unless we told you, that’s how good this paint looks. It sits on 15” gold wire wheels, which really make the rest of the gold trim pop off the sides of this car. Pop the hood, you’ll find what is believed to be the original 283 that has been bored 0.060 over with a mild cam in it to give a little extra grunt. The interior is two-tone to match the exterior with a very unique upholstery pattern. They certainly don't make interiors like they used to. This Nomad was restored about 15 years ago and has held up well since. If you're looking for a tri-five that will draw a crowd wherever you go, it's gotta be a Nomad. This Chevy is the perfect mix of high end panache and classic 50’s gusto. To view this vehicle in greater detail including HD pictures and videos, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne

1962 Chevrolet Biscayne

Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 48383 ( undocumented )

What better cruiser than a slammed 1962 Biscayne wagon!? This wild custom is well built and guaranteed to turn heads whenever it leaves the garage. When the Biscayne came out way back in 1958, it was built to be an affordable family vehicle that would get you from point A to point B. The year this one rolled off the assembly line however was the very first year that Chevrolet brought out the Biscayne wagon. Made with the family man in mind, nothing back in 1962 gave anyone the impression that this would ever be anything more than just that. This is not your everyday Biscayne wagon though. It has had air ride suspension put underneath it to lay it on the ground and, while at cruising height, provide a more comfortable ride. The pearlescent white paint job on it stands out among the crowd and the flames really set the whole look. Moving into the interior, the reupholstered red interior is very comfortable and has a lot of the classic style that you would expect in a 60’s car. The steering wheel screams sixties with heavy flake and looks like it was stolen off of an old bass boat. Sticking through the transmission tunnel is a Hurst shifter that is attached to the manual four speed and is hooked up behind a 350 cubic inch V8. This car was built to be shown, cruised, and thoroughly enjoyed; if you are looking for a car that you can jump in with your buddies and go to shows and the local cruise night there may not be a better choice than this radical 1962 Biscayne! This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com.
