1931 Chevrolet Sedan

1931 Chevrolet Sedan

Engine: V-8 Small Block
Transmission: 3-Speed Auto
Mileage: 72623 ( undocumented )

Grab everyone's attention this Summer with this 1931 Chevy Sedan. The Chevrolet Series AE Independence was manufactured by Chevrolet in 1931 to replace the 1930 Series AD Universal. Production levels slipped during the Great Depression to 619,554 units, but Chevrolet actually outpaced rival Ford in 1931! The main change between the Series AE and the outgoing AD was a 2-inch longer wheelbase, now at 109”. It remained powered by the “Stovebolt Six” 194 cid inline 6-cylinder engine producing 50hp. This classic 1931 four-door sedan ups that ante with a 350 cubic-inch V8 mated to a Mustang II automatic, Mustang front-end suspension and 373 Posi rear end. The 350 power plant sports a polished aluminum intake & air cleaner, Accel distributor, dual exhaust and stainless gas tank. Additional features include manual rack & pinion steering, power brakes, attractive wire wheels and AM/FM/CB Radio. This is an older build with lots of chrome accessories, and could be driven as is or form a solid base to personally upgrade. This is a steel body car with fiberglass fenders. The 1931 Chevrolet hot rod is located at our Milwaukee showroom. This 1931 Chevrolet Sedan is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, call us at (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information.

Take a step back in time with this gorgeous Buick Roadmaster! This un-restored 1937 survivor has been in storage the majority of its life and driven on a limited basis since 2000. The 320 engine, transmission and interior are all original. Minor updates were done including a rebuilt starter, master cylinder and new battery. This time capsule would be a great starting point for a full restoration or enjoyed as is. Included are wonderful bits of documentation such as the owner’s manual and lubrication chart. The Buick Roadmaster traces its roots back to the 1931-33 Buick “Series 80” upper level trim package for their long wheelbase model. In 1936, the “Series 80 Roadmaster” was introduced to celebrate the engineering improvements and design advancements over the 1935 models. The valve-in-head straight-eight engines were updated and a big 320cid ,120 hp beast was the top of the line. In 1937, a new carburetor and revised camshaft raised this figure to 130 hp. The engine also received a new intake manifold, oil pump and cooling system. The transmission is a 3-speed sliding shift manual. Styling updates included a divided grille with horizontal bars and a center section painted to match the body of the car. This beautiful Roadmaster is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information.

1985 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas

1985 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas

Engine: 4.2L I6
Transmission: 5 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 86913 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando Florida is proud to present this 1985Jaguar XJ-6 Vanden Plas. Painting in a beautiful Black and featuring a plush Biscuit Leather interion. This luxury cruiser is ready for miles of fun. It is powered by the 4.2 Inline 6 Cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. Jaguar's escape from the imploding British Leyland and the insertion of new management in the late 1970s finally allowed the brand to once more focus on its core mission, and to improve its cars' build quality. The superb Series III XJ6, considered the last of company founder Sir William Lyons's cars, became Jaguar's salvation and crowning achievement in the 1980s, and today remains a sparkling everyday-drivable collector car. The last Series III XJ6 was built in May of 1987, and it marked the last installation of the vaunted XK engine in a production Jaguar. The improved build quality and reliability that made these cars so desirable when new has meant that a surprising number of nice examples remain available today, and they don't suffer from the electronic complexity or updated styling of their square-edged "XJ40" descendants. Discussions of Jaguar's classic XJ6 are invariably emotional. What other four-door sedan on the market combined such beauty, such athleticism, such luxurious accommodations, such desirability, such a reasonable price...and for a few years? Options on this 1985 Jaguar XJ-6 Vanden Plas for sale in our Orlando Florida showroom include; AM/FM Radio Leather Interior, Power Steering, Power Windows, power moonroof and steel with hub caps shod with radial tires. A 350 CID V8 engine with a Holley aluminum intake and carburetor provides the muscle to this street ride. A TH-350 automatic transmission transfers the power to the 10 bolt rear end. An aluminum radiator helps keep this Chevy cool on long hot days while out and about. The 40’ Chevrolet body sits on a frame donated from a 1970 Chevrolet, as is the engine, transmission, and rear end. 1936 Ford Pickup

1936 Ford Pickup

Engine: 305 CID V8
Transmission: TH350 Automatic
Mileage: 26323 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars Saint Louis Showroom is proud to offer this striking 1936 Ford Pickup that has been restored on top of a 1978 Malibu frame. Ford did not start using the slogan, 'Built Ford Tough' until 1978, but you can't tell by looking at the body on this 1936 Pickup Truck. Ford began its truck program back in 1908 with the Ford Model TT evolving into some of the most recognizable and beloved trucks the auto community has seen. While the 1930s were a decade of financial strain due to The Great Depression, Ford experienced remarkable success with their durable and cost-efficent trucks outselling Chevrolet in 1935 by nearly 300,000 units! This 1936 Ford Pickup is one such example that survived through the years and has been restored beautifully. This 1936 Ford Pickup Truck has been in the same family for nearly two decades and comes with new Brakes, Battery, Body Cover, and a Tool Box installed into bed. Speaking of the bed, a plywood has been professional installed into the floor of it, and is covered with a clear sheet of plastic to protect it. The body has been painted black and exudes a nice shine with the exclusion of any scratches or dents. Powering this restored classic is a 305 CID V8 with an automatic TH 350 transmission. Built on the frame and powertrain of a 1978 Chevrolet Malibu, allows it to have that classic look, but a smooth ride. Here is a truck that can win your a few shows and be used for work. 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible

1965 Ford Mustang Convertible

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 540 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas Showroom is a beautiful dark blue metallic over white 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. The introduction of the Mustang created a whole new category of vehicle, the Pony car, and totally changed the automotive landscape forever. In 2005 a full restoration was performed on this 65’ Mustang including body, paint, interior, and engine and transmission rebuild. This Mustang features the wonderful color combination of a dark blue metallic exterior and white vinyl interior. The dark blue paint features a small amount of metallic flake. It shines beautifully as it was greatly cared for since the restoration was complete. It is very hard to imagine that the paint is in fact 13 years old. The white vinyl interior features the Pony interior upgrade which includes woodgrain trim throughout and Mustangs emblazed in the backs of all the seats. Options for this 1965 Ford Mustang convertible include: Front Disk Brakes, Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Automatic/Power Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Radial tires. Powering this convertible Pony car is a 289 CID V8 engine that was rebuilt at the time of restoration and has been driven approximately 550 miles since the rebuild. A C4 automatic transmission transfers the power to the pavement via the stock rear end and radial tires. This is a great example of an early Mustang with all the right options, and a beautiful color combination. 1971 Chevrolet Corvette

1971 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: 350 V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 111180 ( undocumented )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1971 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This two top Brands Hatch Green Corvette Stingray is ready for the open road. The Saddle vinyl interior is the perfect match for the Brands Hatch Green exterior. The car just came out of a 25-year slumber and was fitted with all new bushings, ball joints, bearings, shocks, brakes & calipers, mufflers, tires, interior and paint. Not quite a frame off restoration, but also not frame off money. The big bonus is the 4-speed and auxiliary hardtop. The C3 hardtops very well may be one of the best-looking hardtops to be fitted to a car. The beige soft top was also replaced and goes very well with the Saddle interior. Options for this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible include: AM/FM Radio, Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Manual Convertible Top (Hard and Soft Tops), Rally Wheels, and Radial Tires. 1971 would be the last year for high horsepower. Through 1971, engines were rated as gross horsepower which meant power was rated with no engine accessories that would rob power. In 1972, horsepower was rated with all engine accessories and power looked as if it fell right off the shelf. Power was indeed down, but not nearly as much as it looked on paper. This one factor plays a significant role in collectability making the 1971 a more sought-after model year than ‘72s. This 1971 is powered by the 270 horsepower 350 and is mated to a fun shifting 4-speed. In 1972 this engine would be rated at 200 horsepower and the 454 would be rated at 270. It would be an interesting matchup; cubic inches and torque vs. the lightweight small block. The small block may be the better choice with fewer fill ups at the gas station and cooler engine temperatures. 1939 Chevrolet Custom Truck and Trailer

1939 Chevrolet Custom Truck and Trailer

Engine: 313 CID Straight 6
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 99999 ( undocumented )

There it is a 1939 Chevrolet Custom Truck and Trailer combo that is now for sale in our Houston Showroom. This truck is what we can call custom, and does not have any hard time winning trophies at any car show you choose to take it to. This truck is powered by a strong 313 CID Inline 6 which is plenty of power for this light weight beauty. The transmission the is paired up with the engine is a Ford C4 with a “Lokar” shifter. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt by Owens Race Engine in Pearland. At a quick glance, it would be hard to determine this is a Chevrolet being it has a grill from a 1937 Hudson Terraplane, headlights from a ’30 Hudson, and taillights from a ’59 Cadillac Ambulance. Each time you look at this truck you will find something new or interesting, which was the intention of the truck as it climbed to the top of the competition at several previous car shows. The Carb intake is a Zenith TIN40 from a ’71 Porsche 911-T with Velocity Stacks. The 4-barrel intake is a Ford 300 Offenhauser with a Holly 570 “Street Avenger” mounted on top. The parts on this truck is like a time capsule ranging from parts dated back to the early 1900’s all the way up to the 90’s. What truly makes this truck an American classic is the WWII pieces that have been installed such as the brass hood and trunk handles from vintage WWII naval electric conduit clips, Zoomie heat shield from WWII zero recoil artillery shell casings, and the overhead switches from a B-29 Bomber. As you work your way down on this piece of history you see the truck and trailer both sit on OEM wheels from a ’41 Ford. The tires are in great shape and made by Diamond Back with Michelin rear cases. The trailer that comes with this truck is a ’36 Mullins which were only made in ’36-’37 in turn making this deal just that much sweeter. The interior is a tan color and in great condition, you will notice everything from the floors, carpet, and headliner are all in great shape. The interior keeps the flow going with the customization's it has as well such as the vintage faucets used for the dash switches. 1940 Buick Special Business Coupe

1940 Buick Special Business Coupe

Engine: 240 Straight * (Fireball)
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 6642 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1940 Buick Special. Let’s start with the styling of this beauty. At first sight, you will notice the seductive, curvaceous lines that surround this Buick Special. The curves are matched well with an elongated nose creating an illusion of speed. The gorgeous “cranberry red” exterior on this Buick Special will captivate you and lure you in for a closer look. Chrome accents compliment the outer shell with a large, centerpiece chrome grille that screams Buick. The interior of the car drives home the name “Special.” The cranberry and peanut butter cream combination invites you in with such elegance. The interior is simplistic yet complex, heightening your senses with several different textures and touches. The seats are wrapped in soft vinyl with plush cloth inserts. Adding to the luxury essence is the beautifully marbled wood grain dashboard with the chrome bezel gauges and AM Radio face. If that isn’t enough to keep your eyes wondering, the light tan headliner and black framing on the window brings it all together and takes it to another level. Powering this excellent machine was Buick’s Straight-8 engine, otherwise known as the Fireball 8. The “Fireball 8” mustered up 120 hp in the 1940 40 series Buick Special. This may not sound impressive in comparison to today’s standards, but let’s put this into perspective. Thirty-seven years later, the 1967 Chevy Nova’s 283 V8 version was only rated at 195 horsepower, which was considered a “Muscle Car.” Although the horsepower rating isn’t frightening, this car has enough spunk to get up to speed and cruise along with traffic on the highway. Being an automatic transimission, makes it a great car for the entire family to enjoy and drive. If you’re searching for a classic that retains originality, but still unique enough to make people say, “what’s that” or “you don’t see one of those everyday”, then this is a car for you. Options include two spare tires, Vinyl and Cloth Interior, and Wide White Wall Tires. This 1940 Buick 40 Special is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information, please call our knowledgeable staff at (813)645-6200 or email us at Tampa@GatewayClassicCars.com. If you would like to see it in person, come to our Tampa Showroom, located at 351 30th Street NE, Ruskin, FL 33570. Hours: Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM EST.
