Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is Extremely proud to offer up this mean 1950 Buick Riviera. Between the custom slammed look, and the massive powerplant, this beast is sure to be the center of attention at your local car show! Under and through the hood of this beauty is a healthy 496 CID big block crate motor thats paired with a Weiand Mega Blower. This powertrain combination provides this heavy car with the power and performance of a modern muscle car. Sending the power to the 9" Ford rear end is a turbo 400 automatic transmission that shifts firmly through the gears with no problems handling the almost 800 horsepower this engine generates. The meat that sends the power to the ground are Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires in 29x185x15LT. When it comes time to slow this big classic to a stop, the driver will appreciate the disc brakes up front. Moving inward, the interior of this slick ride is very plush and comfortable. The driver will immediately notice the multi-color leather seats, dash, and headliner that are all in very good condition. Adding to the comfort of this ride are power seats, power windows, power locks, power steering, and power brakes. In the summer months, the driver will appreciate the removable hard top to allow for plenty of sunshine and fresh air. Overall, the interior of the car is in really good shape. Moving outward, the exterior of the car has a super mean vibe to it thanks to the canvas covered soft top along with some shaving of the body here and there. The PPG "Vanilla Shake" paint is in good condition with extremely minimal imperfections. Overall, the car is an extremely nice driver quality car with minimal imperfections. The big green front seat is comfortable with seat belts that were recently added making the ride a little safer. The dash is in excellent shape with the big round speedometer placed right in the front of the driver as these cars drove so smooth it as easy to speed. Engine: 455 CID V8Transmission: 3 Speed AutomaticMileage: 13019 ( undocumented )
This 1971 Buick Riviera is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The name Riviera was actually chosen due to its Latin origin meaning coastline. Buick used this evoke the allure and influence of the French Riviera. Along the years it would have a number of different body styles but the most memorable has to be the “Boat Tail” design of the early 70’s. Designed b y the famous Bill Mitchell and penned by the future lead designer of Nissan Jerry Hirshberg the car would be considered a little too radical by many. Today the classic body lines lend them self to some of the best customs you will ever see. This example, though not a complete custom, has used its paint and a little medal work to give it a one-off look. The silver paint is slick and goes well with the cars lines making it a great base to start with. The custom hand laid graphic going around the middle of the car help to distinguish the body lines. The black on the bottom gives the car a very 3-dimensional look while exaggerating the round styling. The louvers on the trunk are Inside the year only design and define the 71 looks. The original interior is intact and while not in excellent condition it is very nice for its age. The stock gauges look like you’re in the seat of a fighter plane. Under the hood is the original 455 4-barrel big block that gets the car going down the road respectively. The TH400 transmission shifts like it should while not to interrupt that smooth almost floating ride quality. Options on this 1971 Buick Riviera include, AC, AM/FM Radio, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Seats, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts Tilt Wheel, and Alloy Wheels with Radial Tires. For sale in the Gateway Classic Cars’ Chicago Showroom is this wonderful example of a 1978 Buick Riviera. Like many of the luxury coupes of the late 70s the Fifth generation Rivieras saw a downsize in 1977 as GM switched the car over to the B platform. What the car lost in stature it gained in strong body lines and a stately front-end design. The example on offer has a two-tone Black on Silver paint job giving it a commanding appearance. Continuing the theme of the exterior, inside the car you’ll find a Grey vinyl interior with black piping accents throughout. Don’t let this plush cozy interior fool you because under the hood is a massive 403ci 6.6L V8 engine that puts out a respectable 185hp. The combination of attention to rider comfort and grunt under the hood makes this car an excellent highway cruiser. For more information about this 70s classic stop by our Chicago Showroom, give us a call at 708-444-4488 or email us at Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com.
