The Plymouth Belvedere was produced by Plymouth from 1954 to 1970.The Belvedere name was first used for a new hardtop body style in the Plymouth Cranbrook line for the 1951 model year. In 1954. the Belvedere replaced the Cranbrook as the top trim and became a full model line with sedans, station wagons and convertible body styles. All Plymouths were treated to a major overhaul for the 1955 model year. This was the first year of Chrysler Stylist Virgil Exner's "Forward Look." The Belvedere returned as top-of-the-line. For 1956, Plymouth styling evolved from that of the 1955s. Most notable would be the introduction of the first push-button automatic transmission to appear in an American automobile, and a more dramatic rear-end treatment highlighted by a pair of rakish tail-fins. Belvedere remained the top full-line series through 1958. In 1956, Plymouth added seat belts. This 1962 Dodge Max Wedge Tribute is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 62 Line up for Dodge had there own defined look making them highly collectible today. With there 413 CI engine and massive cross ram intakes were literally taking the strips by storm. This stunning Dodge Dart 330 has been meticulously maintained over the years and only has 50,534 original miles! All original interior and the rare 413 CID Golden Lion V8 topped with dual four-barrel carburetors’ sitting under the hood is backed by a push button Torque-flite automatic transmission. The Seneca, Pioneer, and Phoenix trim levels were dropped; trim levels became Dart, Dart 330, and Dart 440. The Polara 500, offered in 2-door hardtop, 4-door hardtop, and convertible styles, was dimensionally identical but not officially a Dart by dint of its "Polara 500" badging. The Polara 500 was not built or sold in Canada, and the Dart models were the same as in the U.S. except that the base model was badged Dart 220. The 1962 Dart, like the Plymouth, was on a new lightweight unibody "B" platform, featuring Chrysler's well-received "Torsion-Aire" torsion bar front suspension and asymmetric rear leaf springs. The rigidity gained through the nearly pure unibody platform combined with the suspension's low unsprang weight and near-ideal geometry provided sound handling, braking, and acceleration; the latter especially with the mid-year 415 HP "Ramcharger" 413 CID V8 which was aimed primarily at sanctioned drag racing, where it quickly broke performance records. Equipped with the standard 383-2V CID V8 putting out 305 HP and a Torqueflite transmission, this combo is easy to maintain, repair, and get parts for. The car was originally white and was re-painted the same color in the year 2000. The current owner has had the privilege of being this Polara's caretaker for almost 18 years, and the love and respect he has for the car is obvious. Options like hang-on AC, cruise control, power steering, and the early-style 15" American Racing wheels make you think it's the mid-sixties again. To continue that vibe, the owner has an aluminum Weiand four barrel intake manifold and a Holley four barrel carburetor he'll include with the car for the new owner. The tastefully restored red vinyl interior also has added seat belts, but still retains the original carpeting in the "salt and pepper" style pattern that is not being reproduced, so to see it in this original condition is very unusual. Make no mistake; this car has not been restored, only well-maintained throughout it's 55 years since it left the factory. The Plymouth Fury is a model of automobile which was produced by Plymouth from 1955 to 1989. It was introduced for the 1956 model year as a sub-series of the Plymouth Belvedere, becoming a separate series one level above the contemporary Belvedere for 1959. The Fury was a full-size car from 1959 to 1961, then a mid-size car from 1962 to 1964, again a full-size car from 1965 to 1974, and again a mid-size car from 1975 to 1978. From 1975 to 1977 the Fury was sold alongside the full-size Plymouth Gran Fury. This gorgeous Sort Fury is a local car and was purchased for restoration in 2009. The engine, transmission and chassis were rebuilt by Mopar mechanics. The Interior and Paint wee done by a shop base in Lafayette. Under the hood is a period correct 383, but it is a donor engine from a Road Runner. Due to the low production numbers for this car, the trim for the vehicle could not be purchases new but had to be completely restored. The overall condition of this beautiful car has allowed it to win several trophies. The Dodge Polara was an automobile introduced in the United States for the 1960 model year as Dodge's top-of-the-line full-size car; after the introduction of the Dodge Custom 880 in 1962, the Polara nameplate designated a step below the full sized best trimmed Dodge model; the Polara that year had been downsized to what was in effect intermediate, or mid-size status. In its various forms, the Polara name was used by Dodge until 1973, when its position in Dodge's line-up was replaced by the Dodge Monaco. The name Polara is a reference to the Polaris star, in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race during the early 1960s. The Polara was a competitor to the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Chevrolet Impala. The 1964 models received a revised front end and new tail lamps to distinguish them from the 1963 cars. Rear end treatment took its inspiration from the Chevrolet Impala, the Polara models now featuring six small, square-shaped taillights (three on each side) surrounded by an attractive bright trim panel. Lesser mid-size Dodges featured only four taillights (two on each side) and lacked the bright trim panel. A sensational new "C" pillar for the hardtop coupes, combined with the more attractive front and rear end styling, made the '64s look totally new (and longer/ lower/wider as well), resulting in a significant increase of sales over 1963. The Polara 500 continued as Dodge's sporty mid-size model, competing with the full-size Ford Galaxie 500/XL and Chevrolet's Impala Super Sport, featuring an engine-turned anodized aluminum trim strip along the car's flanks, bucket seats and deluxe vinyl upholstery. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1964 Plymouth Belvedere with a period correct 426 Cross-ram HEMI is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Belvedere name was first used on the new Hardtop body style on the Cranbrook line in 1951. In 19654 it replaced the Cranbrook as the top trim level and became a full model line with sedans, wagons, and convertibles all adorning the nameplate. It would go on as Plymouth’s full-sized car until 1965 when it became the intermediate until being abandoned all together after 1970. What most people will remember about the Belvedere however is it was the first production vehicle to come from the factory with the now legendary 426 HEMI. It is believed that only 35 legal street cars were produced making these cars one of the rarest MOPAR’s to ever leave the assembly line. An original Wedge car was found in AZ and hauled back to KY for its 4-year six figure build. The body of the car was straight and rust free, so minimal body work was required. Painted in the classic white paint this jewel is guaranteed to be in style long after were gone. The real deal aluminum hood is a highly sought-after piece that took quote some time to source. Under that huge hood scoop is really what we are here to talk about, the elephant in the room if you will, and I mean that literally. The engine was pieced together after many years of research from the original aluminum cross ram intake to the chrome valve covers this 426 is a real deal 12.5:1 ground pounding monster. The Carter carbs were not used as the Holley’s are considered to be a much more reliable setup and are the ones used on the 4-barrel model. With all that power to tame a bullet proof transmission was needed and just like in 64 the 833 4-speed was the go to piece. The rear-end would see the same consideration with an 8.75 rear being used but with a very respectable 3.55 being instead of the 4.56 that were found on most of these drag strip killers. The interior was the last piece of the puzzle but after 3 years the build was coming to an end. The bench seat upfront is exactly what you would you have seen in 1964 with the 4-speed shifter hugged up close and personal to the driver’s leg. It would prove to be the perfect position with your hand almost naturally falling right on to the handle you really couldn’t ask for anything better. The blue vinyl is correct and what should be in a 64 although the factory racers used van bucket seats. All in all, if you want one of the most radical production cars to ever leave Detroit this 64 Belvedere is it. You could get the 225 slant-6 or upgrade to the 273 CI V8. The 273 engine was made available as an upgraded Commando version with a four-barrel carburetor, 10.5:1 compression, and a more aggressive camshaft, still with solid tappets. These and other upgrades increased the engine's output to 235 bhp (175 kW). New options were introduced for the Barracuda as the competition among pony cars intensified. This car features the 273 CI V8 engine along with a fantastic 4-speed manual transmission. Can you think of a much better combination in this car? The exterior is presented in a vibrant gold color with a beautiful black vinyl interior. Features include an AM/FM radio, spare tire, jack belts, vinyl interior, radial tires and 14” Moonies. The Dart was released in 1960 as a replacement to the Plymouth in the standard, low priced car segment which was growing rapidly at this time. They were an instant success and represented 87% of all Dodge sales for that year. 1962 was a short-lived run of the second-generation Dart with many saying that they were more of an intermediate car than the entry level bang for your buck first generations. 1963 to 1966 would see the 3rd generation which was closer to the highly successful first gen’s. This 1965 is a great example of why so many bought these cars. Their smaller stature allowed for a slant 6 to give the car plenty of power and intrigued many buyers. The 225 slant 6 was the best of the bunch and has become one of the most popular six-cylinder engines to ever leave Detroit. This numbers matching example was gone through about 10 years ago but has only seen about 1200 miles since the work was done. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts out nicely while being controlled through a console mounted gear selector giving the car a very sporty look. The optional 14-inch wheels had to be used on these disc brake cars for caliper clearance but look a lot better as well. The paint on the car is in good condition and shows nicely with the chrome accents helping to give the car a higher end look. The black interior with bucket seats is in very good condition and rather comfortable for a 65. If you have been thinking about getting into a mid-60’s MOPAR but don’t want to the break bank while doing it this 65 Dart GT is a great way to achieve just that. This 1966 Dodge Coronet convertible is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Cornet was released in the 49 lines up as MOPAr5’s first postwar body style. It would go through many different renditions throughout its 30+ years but the most memorable has to be the 5th generation line up. This example was a frame off restoration with a build book that documents the progress. Taken down to bare metal and starting from there it was painted back to its original color. The convertible top was redone as well with the black vinyl still being in excellent condition. This 66 was a great car when started with the body in an excellent condition the attention was directed to the heart of the MOPAR. Built by Muscle Motors in Lansing MI, the 572 CI HEMI is a force to be contended with. Putting out a ground shaking 800 HP standing next to this behemoth at idle is something every gearhead needs to experience. With those massive Hemi heads taking up so much space it takes a couple looks to figure out how that got so much engine under that hood. With the cross-ram intake sitting on top getting enough fuel to this animal is the least of your worries. Built by John Cope the reverse manual valve body 727 trans is exactly what you would expect in such a build. Getting power to the ground is the bullet proof Dana 60 rear end which has been filled with a set of Moser 40 splined axles. The 4.56 gear set will get this MOPAR down the ¼ mile perfectly. The cage has been certified and meets the NHRA standards for nostalgia super stock with the fit being one of the best I have seen. The Gary Ball Super Stock interior is clean and what should be in the car keeping it as close to the real deal as possible. With a build expense into the 6 figures and only 20 passes on the car this would be an excellent way to get into one of the most competitive and coolest classes of drag racing there is. Our Atlanta Showroom is proud to offer this 1966 Dodge Dart for sale. This 4 barrel 273ci V8 is mated to an automatic transmission. It has been upgraded to factory Dodge disc brakes an has the factory GT emblems. The 1966 Dart remained largely the same as the 1965 models with the same engine and transmission lineup. There was a special 273 offered, however, in the D/Dart, a special drag racing edition. Also, the ball and trunion front joint was replaced with a more common U-joint and the 904 transmissions were now shifted with linkages instead of cables. The only change to the suspension was an optional, small front sway bar. An effective facelift with more squared-off lines, a new rectangular grille, and rectangular headlight bezels was introduced. The intention of the facelift was to better mimic the new Charger. The special drag racing D/Dart was classed in the D/Stock class and featured a 273 with larger Holley carb, headers, hotter cam, and manual choke. It was only offered on two-door GT models. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a rare 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible. Only 628 Coronet R/T convertibles were produced by Dodge in 1967. They were available with either a 440 Magnum V8 or a 426 Hemi V8 engine, they were equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission or a 3-speed automatic transmission (727 Torqueflite). The Hemi powered Coronet Convertibles being extremely rare, with a total of only 6 known to exist. This particular 67’ Coronet is an actual R/T convertible and was born with a 440 Magnum. The current 440 Magnum V8 powering this 67’ Coronet is not the original numbers matching engine, but it is period correct. A 727 Torqueflite transmission transfers the power to the rear end with ease. The trim tag indicates that Dark Red Metallic was the original color for this Coronet R/T, The car has been resprayed over the years, at one point it was believed to have been teal, but all is right with the world again, as it is back to the original color. The black vinyl interior features bucket seats, console, and console mounted shifter. The Mopar rally wheels are wrapped in raised white letter radial tires that provide an awesome stance and complete the classic muscle car look. With options like power steering, power brakes, and automatic power top this 67’ Coronet R/T Convertible is a must have for any Mopar enthusiasts. The second-generation Barracuda, still shared many components with the Valiant but was stylishly redesigned with model-specific sheet metal, and a convertible and hardtop coupe joining the original fastback offering. The new Barracuda was chiefly the work of John E. Herlitz and John Samsen, with Coke-bottle side contours and heavily revised front and rear ends. Design cues included a concave rear deck panel, wider wheel openings, curved side glass, and S-curved roof pillars on the hardtop. Some points of interest with the 1967 Cudas were that the front and rear bumpers were identical. They have the same license plate indent and mounting bracket. The rear portion of the roof on the fastback coupe was more streamlined, and the back glass, raked at a substantially horizontal angle, was much smaller compared with that of the previous model. Also, the use of chrome trim on the external sheet metal was more restrained. In 1967, while the 225 cu in (3.7 L) slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in (4.5 L) to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in (6.3 L) "B" big-block, rated at 280 bhp (210 kW), the latter available only with the Formula S package. This very beautiful 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. From the outside, this Belvedere II has a survivor look of a car that has been basically maintained through its many years of life. The exterior paint shows some wear with a few touch ups here and there. These particular types of cars have gained in popularity in the last few years. A set of American Torque Thrust wheels have been added to dress up the Belvedere a bit, but if you want more of a sleeper look, then the stock steel wheels are in the trunk. Gateway Classic Cars now has a very special and beautiful 1968 Dodge Dart GTS Convertible available in Houston! This one is powered by a numbers matching 340 CID V8 engine that goes through a factory TorqueFlite transmission. This engine has only covered less than 500 miles since the car was restored in 2013. Exterior is finished in a red with black top combination. Features include an AM radio, automatic convertible top, hub caps, power brakes, power steering, jack, seat belts, vinyl interior and radial tires. This is part of the fourth generation of Dodge Dart vehicles produced between 1967 and 1976. The Dart was substantially redesigned for the 1967 model year. It received new styling, revised steering systems, wider front track and frame rail spacing. Redesigned K-members were added to accept the larger engines that Dodge had in mind for the car. In 1967 you would also notice the rear window with inverse curves, creating a new and unique appearance at the rear of a greenhouse, but designed to collect snow! The 170 CID I6 was dubbed simply “Dart”, with the 270 and GT carrying on mostly unchanged. In late 1967 the GTS came out in limited quantities due to it’s lateness, but the 1968 was arguably improved anyway, by fitting the new high-output 340 CID V8! That is the car that you are looking at here. The first of the 340 GTS cars. Aside from the engine, changes for 1968 were relatively subtle. The park and turn lights in the grille were moved slightly inboard and made round. Side marker lights were added to the front fenders and rear quarter panels, to comply with newly introduced Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. Shoulder harnesses (separate, this year and until 1973, from the lap belts) and non-glare matte finish on the windshield wiper arms were also part of the 1968 federally mandated safety package. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1968 dodge Dart. This bad to the bone Dart is both show and go! The meticulous restoration was a no expense spared job that included a lot of high performance goodies. Power comes from a built 451 based from a 400 block that features aluminum main caps, Veolia Pistons, Bill Mille aluminum rods, 3.375 billet crank and roller cam and lifters. The cylinder heads are aluminum Indy 440 1 cylinder heads as well as an Indy aluminum intake manifold and a CNC ported valley pan. It's equipped with a Milidon oiling system, Milidon oil pan, custom push rods, K Motion valve springs, Stainless steel valves with lockers and retainers, Mopar performance aluminum water pump and a Holley 1050 Dominator carburetor. Exhaust and the menacing sounds that emit from this power house come out of custom headers, exhaust and Borla mufflers. This power needs something just as stout to transfer the power back to the rear wheels. Accomplishing that is a TCI Power Glide transmission, TCI torque converter, Jerry Bickel Chromoly drive shaft with billet trans and rear end yokes, Strange 9 inch with 40 spline spool, 4.56:1 gears and Strange 40 spline axles. Putting the power to ground is no easy task. Accomplishing this feat are Strange double adjustable rear shocks, Chassis Works ladder bar, Strange struts, Strange Rack and Pinion steering and 19.5 Mickey Thompsons wrapped around Weld Racing Aluma Star wheels. Up front are 26x5 Good Years also wrapped around Weld Racing Aluma Stars. Slowing things down is drama free thanks to a set of Strange four wheel disc brakes, Strange master cylinder and steel braided brake lines. Safety is one thing that shouldn't be taken for granted and certainly not missed. This one is ready to hold you in place and keep you safe. Doing so is a custom 12 point roll cage and Stroud 5 point racing belts. Other notable build details include a Hurst roll control line lock, Hurst Quarter Stick shifter, Griffin radiator, Barry Grant fuel system (400 pump & 4 port regulator), Painless wiring harness, Jazz 15 gallon fuel cell and of course beautiful workmanship that shows through and through.
