For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1966 Volkswagen Karma Ghia convertible. This isn't your run of the mill Karma Ghia. This 1966 has been restored to a very high degree. The beautiful dark blue metallic paint goes perfectly with the dark blue padded canvas soft top and polished aluminum mag wheels wearing 15" radial rubber. Inside the beautifully restored interior are off white bucket seats, original VDO gauges and some auxiliary VDO gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, amperage and a tachometer. Power comes from a professionally rebuilt (50 miles) 1,776cc engine with dual 34 carburetors. The spark comes from a 12-volt system and power is sent through a rebuilt 4-speed transmission with roughly 500 miles. The 4-speed has a custom set of gears providing a close ratio 1st through 3rd before the standard 4th gear. This provides good acceleration with the first three gears. The full restoration including body, paint, interior and drivetrain were completed roughly 5 years ago. All the restoration work with exception to the paint and body were completed by Archway Import Auto Parts of St. Louis.
