1968 Pontiac Firebird

1968 Pontiac Firebird

Engine: 461 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 70,696 ( undocumented )

Originally sold in Denver, Colorado this 3 owner 1968 Pontiac Firebird is has been fully restored and ready for its new owner. It started out life with a 350 cubic inch V8 and a Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission. It has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with all new suspension, stock springs front and rear as well as all new bushings. The 10 bolt rear end was completely rebuilt and has a new Auburn limited slip spool housing 3.23 gears. Having new disc brakes front and rear help the car stop straight and very quick. Popping the bright red hood reveals the 1967 400 cubic inch Pontiac block that was completely inspected before being rebuilt. Engine is bored .030 over allowing for the 461 stroker assembly to call it home. The short block was assembled by one of the best engine builders in the area and after completion was dyno tuned and tested where it produced peak numbers of 497 horsepower and 570 ft. lbs. of torque. Diving into the list of components that have been built into this power house the bottom end consists of an Eagle crankshaft, forged 4340 rods, SRP forged racing pistons, high press and volume oil pump in a six-quart pan. Taking a look at the top end there is a full roller Comp camshaft, and a set of Edelbrock D port 87cc heads. Cam specifications are 502 int. and 510 exh. lift but with 1.6 ratio rockers lift is closer to actual 530. The engine was built this way to get good lift without excessive duration. Helping transfer all of this power to the ground is a completely brand new Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed transmission. This 4-speed is a wide ratio that works perfectly with the big engine and higher 3.23 rear end gears. When we said this was a complete restoration we ment it! Even the Ram clutch assembly is brand new with all new linkage. Everything in the drivetrain has been balanced complete with the flywheel and new driveshaft. This Firebird was built for handling and performance at any speed. Taking care of the handling performance up front is a set of BMR tubular upper and lower control arms, large BMR sway bar, and tall upper ball joints. All of the hard work has been done to bring this car to where it is all it needs is someone to take it to car shows or on road trips. Looking at the interior you’ll realize the seats have been re-upholstered with factory style covers. Everything on the dash has been replaced including a new dash pad, instrument cluster was rebuilt and while the owner was in there he replaced the heater core and blower motor. You can view this 1968 Pontiac Firebird in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: Turbo Hydromatic 400
Mileage: 82,436 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this excellent 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air. This Formula 400 Firebird checks off all the necessary boxes to make this a worthy car for the first time “Muscle Car” purchaser looking to have fun, or the long-time collector looking to add to an existing collection. The first box to be checked off is “appearance”. How appealing does it look? At first glance, the Navajo Orange is an eye catcher and combines well with the beige bucket interior. The front end looks aggressive and sucks you in with dual snorkel functioning “Ram Air” hood. The sleek, bold styling of the car exudes a classy confident attitude. The second box is “performance”. This Firebird performs just as good as it looks. It boasts a 400 cubic inch numbers matching motor, along with a 4-barrel carburetor and “Ram Air” option. All you need to do is step on the gas to awaken the sleeping giant. Power is transferred from the engine through a Turbo Hydromatic 400 automatic transmission to a 10 bolt posi-traction rear end which now houses 3.42 gears. The third box is “value”. To some this may be the most important box. How do you determine value or forecast value in a car? There are several factors that affect this category: two of which are already checked off. Let’s think in the terms of supply and demand. In 1973, Pontiac only produced 4,622 Formula 400 cars. Many fell victim to the crusher or salvage yard. Some were torn apart and key authentic components were replaced with non-original parts. Others are parked in non-operating condition and rusted out in a field, barn, or garage. Very few of the 4,622 that were produced made it to 2018 with original equipment that were also kept in prestigious condition. Of the 4,622 Formula 400 vehicles, only 533 had the functioning “Ram Air” hood. Yes, this is one of the 533 born with that very special option. Another factor of determining value is, “can you prove the car is what it is?” Yes, with documentation, VIN, data plate, and number stampings, which this 73 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air has. Lastly, with Camaro’s fetching top tier prices, the focus has turned to what the next “Muscle Car” to ignite is. Buying trends are already showing favorable promise to the second-generation Firebirds. When you take all of this into consideration, this car is a trustworthy investment. Most of all, you can hop in and enjoy cruising it while your investment appreciates. You can place a big check mark in this box! Options include (cold) Air Conditioning, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, Rally Wheels, and Posi Traction. The second-generation Pontiac Firebird was produced between 1970 and 1981 and saw some radical changes in power during the EPA influenced decade. In 1971, the legendary 455cid engine first became available in the Trans Am model. Output from the 455HO was rated at 335hp. This sweet ride has custom snowflake wheels and finished trunk that matches the interior. Under the hood of this Firebird is a 403 CID / 6.6 L Old’s Mobile V8. Not only does this motor sound great but it pushes this beautiful car around with authority. Tied to this V8 power house is a three-speed automatic transmission that really takes the load off your knee if you are ever in stop and go traffic. If you have any doubts about this cars performance or reliability just remember this famous quote from the movie. Cledus Snow: Atlanta to Texarkana and back in twenty-eight hours? That ain't never been done before. Bandit: That's cause *we* ain't never done it. Cledus Snow: Suppose we don't make it? Bandit: Hey, we ain't never not made it before, have we? This 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM for sale includes AC, AM/FM radio, cassette player, CD player, T-Tops, cruise control, power brakes, power steering, power locks, tilt wheel, seat belts, leather interior, radial tires and custom aluminum alloy wheels. 1982 Pontiac Firebird K.I.T.T. Tribute

1982 Pontiac Firebird K.I.T.T. Tribute

Engine: 5.0L V8 F
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 6 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia invites you to travel back in time to the days when Kitt and Michael Knight were the stars of Knight Rider. This 1982 Pontiac Trans Am is a Kitt Tribute. It is a 5.0 ltr with an automatic transmission. The character of KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) in the original Knight Rider series was physically embodied as a modified 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. This Trans am, as the pictures show has been modified to be a Tribute of that car. Professionally done, this car is the real deal. From the signature Kitt front Red Light Display to the KNIGHT license plate on the back and even through the highly illuminated dash displays and interior simulation this car is straight from the set. If you were a fan of the show you cannot help but to travel back in time and feel like you are seated next to Michael Knight himself. The paint and finish are fresh and the quality is excellent. The interior is also in excellent condition. Check out the steering wheel. It looks like something from a jet fighter. 1984 Pontiac Firebird

1984 Pontiac Firebird

Engine: 5.0 HO
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 89,619 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this good looking 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans Am located in our Philadelphia showroom. The exterior of this F-body is still and very good shape. The factory color matched wheels are still in good condition. The grey cloth interior is in very good shape as well. Turn the key, and the 190hp 5.0 springs to life immediately, offering a healthy exhaust note with equal amounts of purr and grrr. Grab that fat leather-wrapped wheel, and off we go. The first thing you note is the aggressive throttle tip-in--you get going in something of a lurch, although the sudden motion certainly does add to the sensation of speed, especially around town, and initially it feels like a lot more than the 190hp it's been rated at. What's surprising, nearly 30 years after the third-generation F-body launched, is that it doesn't feel particularly like an old car; the sorts of allowances you need to make when driving a more elderly machine simply don't exist. Here, you drop in and drive as you would any other car, and it becomes more enjoyable on its own simply because it puts you at ease--the style isn't contemporary, but it does feel enough like a new machine that it surprises. If you are looking for some 80’s nostalgia, hurry on in or call us before this one is gone. Options for this 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans AM include; Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD player, T-Tops, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Tilt Steering Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior and Aluminum Alloy Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. To view this 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans Am in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ. 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Engine: 5.0L V8 4BL
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 34,207 ( undocumented )

This 1984 Trans Am is available in our Philadelphia showroom. The Trans Am is one of the most iconic American Muscle Cars. This one with only 34000 actual miles is equipped with a 305 CI V8 and an automatic transmission. Midyear, the L69 high output 305 was introduced. This carbureted 190 hp V8 was virtually identical to the L69 engine in the Camaro Z28, but used a different air cleaner assembly (instead of the Camaro's dual-snorkel air cleaner, the Trans Am received yet another functional cold air intake, designed to utilize the bulged hood). This Trans Am is equipped with that engine option. Other options include power windows and locks. An FM stereo and t tops. The exterior is finished in factory Red with a Trans Am decal on the hood and black lower two tone as well. Another new for 1984 option was the "High-Tech" 15-inch, 20-slot, concave aluminum wheels, painted Gold or Silver, with Black plastic center caps containing a Gold or Silver Firebird logo. The interior features bucket seats finished in gray cloth, floor shifter and a center console. This body style introduced in 1982 was the third generation of the famous bird. It was an immediate success and of course it was the inspiration for the Knight RiderTrans Am. This Trans Am is equipped with power windows and locks and a tilt wheel. It also has cruise control and power steering. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a very clean 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The third generation of the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am ran from 1982 to 1992. The 1985 Trans Am received design improvements including extended quarter panels, a reshaped nose (including fog lights), functional hood nostrils, and different taillights. This 2-owner Trans Am was repainted in 1988 by the dealer under warranty. The burgundy paint has been babied ever since, as it looks fantastic, especially considering its age. The grey cloth interior is also in very good condition, showing minimal signs of wear and aging. Powering this 85’ Trans Am is the original 305 CID V8 engine that is mated to a 5-speed Borg Warner manual transmission. 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Engine: 411 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 59,610 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this incredibly powerful 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA Tribute. How powerful you ask? How’s 840 horsepower? With a 411 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 sending all those ponies through a 2-speed automatic Powerglide spinning the custom aluminum driveshaft into the Ford 9” fabricated rear end. The aluminum center section houses a set of 4.56 rear gears to get the 29.5/10.5-15 racing slicks spinning and rocket this GTA down the quarter-mile in the 9’s at 146mph! The build was done starting in 2001. While 840 horsepower is very impressive, getting all that power to the ground is ultimately what matters. The 10.5 in slicks help plenty, but the mini-tub 4-link suspension really keep everything level. Plenty of work was worked into all spots of the chassis including frame ties, front suspension limiting straps, coilovers, and the 4-link suspension. Wilwood brakes on all 4 corners bring this white lightning to a halt quickly and safely. The engine and transmission have both been refreshed with no passes since. The vehicle has a title, but it is not currently street-legal and has 59,000 Miles. The paint was redone in 2011. With over 800 horsepower ready to slingshot you through the traps in the blink of an eye, this is one exhilarating machine. Options include: T-tops, Tilt Steering Wheel, Seat Belts, Kill Switch, Racing Wheels, Alloy Wheels, Posi-Traction Rear Axle, and Racing Slicks. For more information on this incredible 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com.
