1960 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 45035 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is the custom classic 1960 Chevrolet El Camino. 1960 was the 2nd year of El Camino and production was sadly put to a stop until 1964. The El Camino then came back with a vengeance and was in production from ’64 – ’87. The custom machine is powered by a 350 CID V8 that’s paired to a Turbo 350 Automatic transmission. The car has recently had an all new dual exhaust system added to give the car a nice aggressive sound. Peeking into the engine bay you’ll see it features a fair number of chromed components to give it some flare. This El Camino is said to be just a 3-owner car and has been a southern car through the years. The car is sitting on a nice set of custom wheels that are in good condition. With drilled and slotted front disk brakes and rear drums this car doesn’t have an issue coming to a halt. Walking around the car you will find some nicely done white pin striping to accent the curves of the car. All the chrome trim is in good condition and shows well. The bed is lined in white paneling to flow with the pin striping as well as the interior. The interior has been completely restored and has been nicely done. The seats, and door panels have been custom made in a blue and white color combination. One great benefit to the car is the cold blowing A/C to keep you cool on the hot summer days. For sale in our Denver showroom is a 1966 Sage Green Chevrolet El Camino. Chevrolet El Camino is a coupé utility/pickup vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959–60 and 1964-87. Introduced in the 1959–1960 model years in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero pickup, its first run lasted only two years. Production resumed for the 1964–1977 model years based on the Chevelle platform, and continued for the 1978–1987 model years based on the GM G-body platform. In 1966, GM added a 396 cu in (6.5 L) V8 engine to the lineup rated from 325 to 375 hp. The 1965 327 would run low 15s in the 1/4 mile, while 1966 to 1969 models were easily into the mid- to upper-14s. New sheet metal highlighted the 1966 El Camino, identical to the Chevelle. A new instrument panel with horizontal sweep speedometer was featured. Inside, the standard version featured a bench seat interior and rubber floor mat from the low-line Chevelle 300 series, while the Custom used a more upscale interior from the Chevelle Malibu with plusher cloth-and-vinyl or all-vinyl bench seats and deep twist carpeting, or optional Strato swivel bucket seats with console. This beautiful Sage Green El Camino underwent a full frame off restoration, completed in 2016. The list includes a 454 CID big block bored .040 over with only 10,000 on the motor, closed chamber heads, rebuilt 4 speed manual, new clutch, backed by a 3:23 10 bolt rear end, all new or rebuilt acc. on the front of the motor, including power steering, new exhaust, chassis and frame has been painted, new tires and wheels, new brakes, new interior, the bed and engine bay where painted along with the rest of the car. The worldwide El Camino popular jingle: "The front is like a car, the back is like a truck, the front is where you sit, the back is where you f$#!" Another jingle, composed by Billy Ray Cyrus is "Business in the front, party in the back, just like my hair." 1968 Chevrolet El Camino

1968 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine: V-8 Small Block
Transmission: 3-Speed Auto
Mileage: 76795 ( undocumented )

If you have been wanting a classic truck but your other half wants a classic car this El Camino is the best compromise and will make both of you happy for years to come. 1968 would be the first year if what many consider the best looking of all Chevelle’s. With a much rounder and sleeker shape, the new body style was an instant success. As with previous years the El Camino would be based on the Chevelle with the front end being that of the Chevelle. This example would make a terrific addition to any collection or even use as a daily driver. The paint and interior are new and show well with no signs of any major body work. Under the hood is a new Blueprint 355 cubic inch V8 which throws out 440 hp and 450 torque, mated to a new BMI built 350 turbo transmission. Putting power to the ground is a Richmond 12-bolt Posi rear end that has a set of 3:09 gears giving it a great mix of off the line acceleration and top end torque. Inside the leather Procar seats are comfortable and get you ready to feel all 400 of those horses. The wooden steering wheel is a nice touch and looks great inside the cab. Options on this 1968 Chevrolet El Camino include; AM/FM Radio, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Hub Caps, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, Rally Wheels and Radial Tires. 1968 Chevrolet El Camino

1968 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine: 496 CID V-8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 6661 ( undocumented )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Houston showroom is this fearsome 1968 Chevrolet El Camino. What do we mean by fearsome? For starters, its practically new 496 CID Chevrolet V8 has less than 1000 miles on it since it was fired up, and it sounds tight and very nasty. To make sure this mill is properly fed, a full 5/8" ID fuel line setup was custom engineered from the tank to the big 850 CFM Demon Carb, using stainless tubing and real AN-fitting braided steel hose (no braided sleeves here - this is the real deal)! Spark control is provided by an MSD Digital 6AL with MSD wires. Built by Scott Ruther, the big 496 is sure to be up to the task for many miles to come. The 496 Rat Motor sends its twist to the rear wheels via a new GM TH400 3-speed automatic trans, equipped with a B&M Hammer shift kit and 3500 RPM Stall Converter, out to a GM 12-bolt rear end housing 3.73:1 gears - plenty of grunt to put a smile on its driver's face every time the loud pedal gets mashed. To help the driver keep tabs on the big block, it is equipped with the most important AutoMeter gauges: large face memory tach, temp, and a mechanical oil pressure gauge. When you're ready to get rolling, don't worry about hooking up, as the Mickey Thompson drag radials out back are up to the task of wrinkling up the pavement. This beast is made for sucking the headlights out if its competition on the strip, for sure; but it's not incapable of being driven around town or out on the highway for a cruise. Its brown vinyl bench seat is in great shape, the carpet is practically unused, and it even has an aftermarket consold with cupholders. The exterior is low-key cool, with a sleeper shade of Palomino Tan covering the body, and no extra "look at me" stuff to attract unnecessary attention. The body consists of all of its original panels, and from the pictures, one can tell that this El Camino has good bones. Options on this 1968 Chevrolet El Camino for sale include AM/FM radio, Vinyl Seats, Cragar Aluminum Wheels, Radial Tires, and Seat Belts. For more information on this 1968 Chevrolet El Camino for sale, please call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220; or email us at "Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com". To see more of it, go to our website: www.GatewayClassicCars.com, where you'll see HD photos and an HD video of it in operation. Alternatively, if you want to see it in person, come to our Houston Showroom, located at 71 Esplanade Blvd, Ste. 100, Houston, TX 77060.

1981 Chevrolet El Camino

1981 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 98215 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this “Sweet” 1981 Chevrolet El Camino. What is it? A car? A truck? A car-truck? It’s none of the above. It’s Chevrolet’s ICONIC El Camino and if you want to get technical, it is a coupe utility. The El Camino was based on a two-door station wagon and although it was based on a car line, it’s titled and classified as a truck. What you see here is not the average 1981 El Camino. The fifth generation “Elky’s” were known to have rust issues, which makes a solid body basic El Camino highly sought after. This El Camino not only has a solid body, it received a frame-on restoration in 1997 and has been pampered, spoiled, and garaged kept ever since. This is not your typical paint-over-the-original-paint rush job. Before the GM “HOT ROD RED” paint was applied to the entire body, it was bead blasted. This process ensured that all the previous paint was removed, leaving a bare metal surface as the starting foundation. Twenty-one years later the color still shines brightly, shows well, and proves it was both money and time well spent. The restoration continues with a new 350 4 bolt main 350 horsepower crate engine installed along with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission out of a 1966 Corvette. That means this 1981 El Camino is “Show and Go.” If that is not enough excitement, all this power is transferred to a Positrack Rearend, housing 3:73 gears. Oh yeah…mash that pedal to the metal and watch this El Camino go quickly from mild to wild. To ensure the horsepower was put to the pavement, the entire suspension was upgraded. The exterior and drivetrain could not be restored without touching the interior. Inside, you will find 1987 Buick Grand National Bucket Seats redone in Chestnut Suede and Tweed. The chestnut brown color compliments the exterior while keeping it unique, classy, and simple. You will also find new carpet and a three-gauge cluster displaying water temp, oil pressure, volts. Options include AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior, Raised White Lettered Tires, Rally Wheels, Cowl Induction Hood, and Posi Traction. This 1981 Chevrolet El Camino is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1983 Chevrolet El Camino

1983 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine: 5.0L V8 4BL OHV
Transmission: Other
Mileage: 93522 ( actual )

Now available in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this AWARD WINNING 1983 Chevrolet El Camino. Between the healthy powerplant and the very comfortable interior, this car surely deserved to win all of the awards it has. Under the hood of this beauty is a five-liter V8 engine that runs very strong thanks to a rebuild roughly 1000 miles ago. Supplying fuel to the engine is a four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor topped by a chrome air cleaner with a "5.0 Liter H.O." decal. Supplying the engine with that air/fuel ratio is an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. Edelbrock valve covers accent the carburetor and add an aggressive look to the engine bay. Routing the exhaust gasses to the rear of the vehicle is a Flowmaster exhaust system. Spark runs through braided steel plug wires to the plugs. The coolant lines are also braided steel with blue anodized fasteners. Keeping the engine cool are dual electric Flex-A-Lite fans. Sending the power to the rear end is a built Turbo-350 transmission that shifts crisply through the gears. When it comes time to slow this truck down, the driver will appreciate the front disc brakes that provide good bite and stopping power. Overall this car runs very well and sounds just as good. Moving outward, this car features an eye-catching yellow paint job that is in good condition other than some very minor imperfections. All of the appropriate badging is in place and in good condition. Each of the doors feature red and black decals that state "Super Sport". These decals tie in well with the smaller one on the tailgate and the stripes running the length of the vehicle. The bed of the truck is finished in a durable yellow spray-in bed liner that adds to the utility and the look of the vehicle. Supporting each corner of this cool ride are rally wheels that are wrapped in BF Goodrich radial tires with good tread life left in them. Upon entering this El Camino, the driver will immediately notice how comfortable the leather bucket seats are. And with the two tone pattern, they look just as good as they feel. The center consol and dash also feature the same brown color as the seats. Keeping the driving experience comfortable are power steering and brakes. The temperature in the cabin will be well regulated year-round thanks to functional AC/heat. If the driver ever gets tired of hearing the healthy V8, there is also a radio tucked in the dash. Overall this an excelent driver quality vehicle that has an inpressive collection of awards. 1984 Chevrolet El Camino

1984 Chevrolet El Camino

Engine:
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 31182 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1984 El Camino. The El Camino is not really a truck yet not really a car but something in between. It has had the hearts and imagination of many since its release in the late 50’s. They gained popularity in the mid sixties but really came on strong in the 80’s. Most recently many have taken these trucks/cars and put stronger engines making them a lot more fun to drive. This 84 has done just that with a hopped up small block 350 under the hood. The motor sounds great and is a lot more than the original 305 ever thought about being. The transmission was built and installed about 4000 miles ago leaving plenty of life left in this drivetrain. Allowing the exhaust to flow is a new set of manifolds as well as a true dual exhaust setup from the manifolds back. With new brake lines, master cylinder, calipers, and wheel cylinders this thing will stop as good as it goes. With the cooling system new as well you should have no issues with overheating and be confident when cruising in traffic. The rubber molding around the around the windows was replaced as well with it still being in great condition. The interior of the car is original and appears to be in great shape with no major signs of wear. If you have been wanting to get a up and coming car but thought about a truck as well this could be the great compromise between the two. Options on this 1984 Chevrolet El Camino include, AC, AM/FM/CD, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks, Tilt Steering, Seat Belts, and Radial Tires. This 1984 Chevrolet El Camino is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
