Engine: 351 CrateTransmission: 4 Speed ManualMileage: 309 ( undocumented )
Only 300 miles have been put on this immaculate Cobra replica meticulously built by a Unique Motorcars Dealer to their specifications. Unique Motorcars is a US company that started building the Cobra Replicas back in 1979 and have been refining their process ever since. The quality of their work clearly shows on this build. The 351 crate engine and top loader 4 speed manual transmission pair nicely together and provide ample amounts of power for a car as light as this fiberglass Cobra. The crate engine is rated at 425 horsepower and features a Holley four barrel carburetor, a Reed modified camshaft, ported and polished heads, and an MSD ignition. Keeping it planted is Heidt front suspension and a Jaguar independent rear suspension with adjustable coil overs on all four corners. When you put over 400 horsepower into something as performance oriented as this car, you need to make sure you can stop it in a hurry. Doing just that is a set of heavy duty disc brakes on all corners with the rear being in-board. Keeping it cool are two high flowing electric fans and a high flow water pump. This is Cobra is not just for going fast though, the British Racing green laid on top of the fiberglass body is show quality and contrasts nicely with the black leather interior and aluminum racing wheels. This Cobra is a car you can take to the track on Saturday morning and lay down some serious times, then head to the drive in that same night and show it off. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1964 Unique Motors Cobra in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Now for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this spectacular 2008 B&B Shelby Cobra replica. This is an excellent quality build. Under the hood, you will find a mighty 428 CID Cobra Jet V8 engine, mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Fast is a complete understatement. With little to no weight and a big V8 up front, this thing is a rocket. This one has been very well kept and cared for over it’s life. It has only covered 4807 miles since it was built, almost like buying a new one but for much less. Inside the car you will see harnesses for extra safety. Power is out to the ground via radial race tires that are rapped around racing wheels. Whether you’re looking for a cruiser, track day car, show car or something fun, this is the car. Many parts are easy to get and the cars are fairly simple. The lack of options list is based on how bare bones these are. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this cool 1965 Shelby Cobra tribute. This vehicle will be sold on a rebuilt title as the state it was originally built in titled it that way. The Shelby Cobra is one of the most radical cars to ever be built. This 65 Cobra has taken that classic body shape and pretty much threw everything else away. Sitting on a custom built 2x4 tube chassis with a Mustang II front suspension this beauty handles like a dream. The body itself was made by hand, laid and rolled fiberglass that has steel reinforcements laid in at all the stress and hinge points. The fitment of the panels is spot on and what you would expect from such a high-end build. The paint is slick and smooth showing off those classic lines beautifully. With huge side-pipes hanging down from the side of the vehicle this is a car that will not go unnoticed. Under the hood is a modern 5.0 HO engine that is sure to get this little car down the road no problem. Just in case that isn’t enough the Vortech Supercharger give an extra boost, literally. The 345 HP on a mild tune is very streetable until you mash the gas then all bets are off as this red rocket is sure to get away from you if you’re not careful. The Borg & Warner T5 transmission shifts out nicely handling the power of this beauty perfectly. Keeping everything cool under that hood is a set of electric fans just like on the original. The rear end is an 8.8 unit just like the one used in Late Model Mustangs. The 2-piece aluminum wheels are a great finishing touch with the front consisting of 245/50/16 tires and the back having a massive 275/50/16 this Cobra is ready to hug the corners or just run flat-out. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1965 Superformance Cobra MKIII replica. This Superformance MKIII was built in 2003, which is why it is titled as a 2003 vehicle. Superformance is known for building some of the best Cobra replicas. This is no kit car built in someone’s garage. This is built at the Superformance factory by professionals who have experience building the same car on a regular basis. Fit and finish is top notch. The paint is a very high quality base coat clear coat, this one being painted in a beautiful Titanium silver with dual black racing stripes over a black leather interior with stainless steel side pipes and 15" Halibrand styled aluminum wheels wearing Good Year rubber. The fronts are 255/60R15s and giant 295/50R15s out back. That’s a lot of rubber, but no problem for the 408 Windsor stroker motor to melt them into smithereens! Transferring the power is just as fun as smashing the gas pedal thanks to a Tremec 3550 5-speed. The stroker 408 is making an approximate 550 horsepower and is fitted with forged 4340 rods, JE pistons, roller cam, Aluminum AFR cylinder heads, Aluminum Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold, Demon carburetor and an MSD ignition with rev limiter. Keeping the engine cool is an oil cooler, aluminum radiator and dual electric cooling fans. Adding some flare to the already impressive engine bay is a black anodized aluminum Cobra air cleaner with matching valve covers. Slowing things down is a breeze with power 4-wheel disc brakes from Wilwood. Handling is top notch with full independent front and rear suspension with adjustable coil-overs. Inside you will find high end black leather, correct Smiths gauges with the correct reverse reading speedo. Shoulder harnesses by Deist, chassis mounted stainless steel roll bar for the driver and the reverse Mustang shifter for the Tremec 5-speed. Included with the sale is a soft top with hard side curtains and a tonneau cover. The build has covered a modest 9,657 miles and looks brand new. Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this 1965 Cobra 427 replica in our Scottsdale, AZ showroom. This sweet little Cobra is based on a "Factory Five" body and componentry and uses a pre-1996 Ford Mustang 5.0 / 5 spd manual transmission / 8.8 rear axle to motivate this beautiful snake down the road. This makes reliability and parts availability non-issues. The engine was donated by a 1992 Mustang Cobra and has been up-graded with a Powerdyne supercharger. The exhaust gases are efficiently purged through the Jet-coated side exhaust. You can't see it but it performs a vital role in getting the power from the T-5 tranny to the rear axle - a balanced custom driveshaft. Inside the cockpit, the first thing anyone who knows performance cars will notice is the short-throw factory five speed shifter. A wood steering wheel negotiates the turns the driver commands, factory-style seats keep the driver and passenger firmly planted inside, and the full AutoMeter gauge set keeps tabs on all of the car's vitals. This car is a whole lot of fun! With the blower and stout drivetrain between the rails, this replica Cobra probably runs as well as any small block Cobra did "back in the day". Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1966 Shelby Cobra Tribute. The classic car world is full of could’ve, would’ve, and should’ve which is why the replica market is so popular these days. The car that you had to have as a kid that is now worth millions of dollars can be yours for pennies on the dollar, and for many of us that car is a Shelby Cobra. This example is a 1966 Cobra replica that was manufactured by the Everett-Morrison company who have been building them since 1983.The fiberglass pieces are made from the original molds ensuring that almost identical look. Painted in a dark British racing green and a silver stripe down the middle this Cobra is guaranteed to stand out in the crowd. If that doesn’t get their attention the sound coming from the blacked-out side pipes will. The 408 Stroker motor has plenty of power yet is mild enough to be street driven without any headaches. The 4-speed top loader makes driving this car an absolute blast on those curvy back country roads especially with its fully independent suspension. This Cobra uses suspension components from a C4 Corvette turning what use to be a machete into a Samurai sword. Mounted on a set of aluminum wheels the 12” tires in the back assist in getting all that power to the ground. The interior of the car is clean and having a little more room than a lot of the ones I have been in. Engine: 351 Cleveland V8Transmission: 5 Speed ManualMileage: 434 ( actual )
For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is a 1967 AC Cobra Replica. The Shelby Cobra was first made in 1961 when Carroll Shelby wrote to AC Cars, a British automotive company, and asked if they could build him a car with a V8 instead of their V6. Ford supplied the engine, at Carroll Shelby's request, so they could compete with Chevrolet’s Corvette. The car was built starting with a Shell Valley body and frame kit in 2012. Since then, only 435 miles have been put on the clock. Powering the Cobra is Ford’s venerable 351 Cleveland, mated to a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. This engine/trans combo makes for a truly enjoyable driving experience at any speed. Behind the excellent powertrain is a Jaguar independent rear suspension, which puts down the power very smoothly. The desirability of the car isn’t limited to what is under the body, however. This Cobra is painted in PPG Top Brand 1994 Viper Blue, a truly striking color when matched to the silver racing stripes. The interior is a done very cleanly, with black carpet and black leather. The radio and CD player is pumped through a sound system that is actually audible while driving this amazing machine. Gateway Classic Cars is excited to have a 1979 Kellison Stallion. The Stallion styled after the AC Cobra was a manufactured car and is not considered a “kit car”. This example number 2 of only 117 was built for Lynda Carter. It was known as the Wonder Woman Car. It is the only Stallion built without side pipes. Legend has it that this was to protect her million-dollar legs. Jim Kellison, who worked at Shelby, designed these cars and they were sold through select Lincoln and Rolls Royce dealers. The Stallion was designed with three key features in mind: safety, dependability and performance. The chassis, which is the foundation of any automobile, reflects these considerations in every detail. The basic chassis design has drawn heavily on the lessons learned in automobile racing by Jim Kellison, which explains the triangulated tubular steel space frame with a monocoque backbone - something normally found only in competition cars where maximum strength and torsional rigidity are achieved with a minimum of weight. The heart of the chassis is the backbone, which consists of a tubular subframe that supports a foam and steel "sandwich" - two sheets of 20-gauge sheet steel separated by an inch of structural foam. The backbone also insulates the cockpit against the noise and heat of the engine compartment. The backbone and the main rails are the foundation for the rest of the space frame, which provides the Stallion with outstanding crash resistance. Both the front and rear ends have been designed to absorb and dissipate the energy of 30 mph collision. Side penetration resistance is no less impressive: 3" by 4" extensions of the main rails support a network of steel tubing along the side of the cockpit. Each door has an internal framework of steel tubing and steel plates, to which the door hinges and latch mechanism are attached. The chassis was designed around Ford suspension components throughout. This eliminates the durability and service problems long associated with exotic sports cars. The front suspension used in the Stallion was developed by Ford from the experience they gained at Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona with the GT-40 racing program. The rear end was developed to meet the needs of Grand National stock car racing, and is ideal for high performance applications. While the technical foundation of the Stallion is the heart of the automobile, it is the car's styling that captures the eye. Although the Stallion resembles the AC Cobra, it is neither a copy or a replica. The original Stallion body was basically a full-scale sculpture, built by hand over the prototype chassis and it was from this prototype that the body mold was made. Fundamentally longer and wider than the original, the Stallion also differs in a host of other areas. As far as styling is concerned, the Stallion has the same relationship with the Cobra that the Cobra has with the AC Bristol; similar in appearance, but differing in all other aspects. In this respect, the Stallion follows the traditional pattern of the limited production sports car - each succeeding automobile evolved from the ones preceding, incorporating engineering advances as they occurred while retaining the basic design. The Stallion has drawn on 30 years of automotive racing and technological advances and integrated them into a totally new modern sports car with a body style that harkens back to the early sixties. The Stallion built by the Kellison firm for Ron Samuels and Lynda Carter is a unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-built automobile.
