Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is excited to offer this very unique 1940 Ford Super Deluxe Flower Car once again. If you're scratching your head thinking "I've never seen one of those before!" It's probably because you most likely have not. This 1940 Ford Deluxe was produced by the Ford Motor Company and then converted by The Eureka Manufacturing Company of Rock Falls Illinois into a flower car. Essentially starting out as a 5-window coupe, the conversion lengthened the chassis and the convertible rear casket compartment was created with metal rollers and pins to store the side rails that would hold flowers in place. This car had a dual use of being enclosed with the original canvas cover for the less elaborate funerals and having the rear compartment cover removed and side rails installed for a more elaborate send off. Flower cars were popular during the middle of the century and now are rarely seen in modern funerals. While most if not all of these conversions done by Eureka were on General Motors vehicles this one being a Ford and not a Packard or Cadillac makes this highly obscure and is believed to be the only one ever made. This car was purchased new in 1940 and check out the original photos of the car being delivered. Now fast forward 78 years and you will notice that not much has really changed. This is an original, unmolested, unrestored car that still retains the original paint, original canvas cover, original interior and powertrain. Now is your chance to own something that nobody else has and enter the world of Professional Car Collectors. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this timeless 1932 Ford 4 Door Sedan. This hot rod is powered by a 350-cubic inch GM crate engine that produces 290 horsepower. The motor was purchased new during the cars rebuild in 2016 and currently has just over 1,500 trouble-free miles on it. The transmission, a GM 700R4, was professionally rebuilt at the same time and feeds power into the 3.42:1 geared rear end that was taken out of a Chevy S10. These pieces are assembled to unite as one on a brand-new powder coated frame. When you need to test the front Wilwood brakes it is all sure to stop quickly. Once the all steel body was striped to the bare metal, it got a fresh base coat of black, only to be glazed over by a smooth, shiny clear coat to finish it off. To almost perfectly contrast the deep, dark exterior, the interior is finished in a sinister-looking red vinyl. It really takes this classic, yet modest looking hot rod to a whole new level. If hearing the healthy Small Block Chevy didn’t do enough for you, the red-in-black color scheme would make the humblest of ladies go nuts if they saw it driving down the street. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this superb 1927 Cadillac 314. The Series 314 Cadillacs were known in the market as the utmost luxurious vehicles, second only to Duesenberg. Production of these vehicles lasted for less than two years, beginning in August of 1925 and ending in the summer of 1927. As to be expected out of a Series 314, this Cadillac is equipped with a flat-head V8 engine. Mated to this powerplant is a smooth 3-speed manual transmission. These mechanical features have been completely rebuilt and only have about 100 miles on them. The exterior has been painted in a distinguished, two-tone dark and light blue color combination. The paint on this car is truly exceptional. This beautiful classic is sure to turn heads no matter where, when, or how it is driven. The interior of this vehicle is just as stunning as the outside. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this freshly built 1957 Chevrolet 210. This car was born with a fuel efficient 6-cylinder engine, which had enough pep for a casual cruise, but that was about it. The seller took this car off the deep end of the power pool by stuffing a fuel injected 454 big block Chevrolet under the hood giving this classic cruiser a whole lot more grunt. The rest of the car received similar treatment by getting a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear axle all set up to handle all that power from the motor to the rear wheels. A custom front cross-member was put installed to accommodate a rack and pinion front steering assembly, and tubular front control arms were installed to cut down on un-sprung weight and add strength to the front end of the car. The interior has been completely gone through as well, with an extremely soft synthetic leather material applied over the seats, color matched dashboard, center-mounted power window switches, a high-end custom sound system, and several other goodies making the inside as comfortable to be in as the outside is to look at. Upgrading the function of the car is only half the picture. The entire body of the vehicle went through a complete transformation to bring it to the next level and match its new performance capabilities. A layer of Dark Metallic Blue pulled from the Mazda palette has been professionally applied over this solid body, helping it follow the higher modeled American icon, the Bel Air. Many of these bodies have found themselves chopped, channeled, slammed with big tires out back, more oriented around looking cool, rather than performance or drivability. This build goes back to the roots of hot-rodding, but keeping the body mostly stock. Powering this throwback is a Chevy small block V8 displacing 283 cubic inches paired up with a 4-speed manual transmission. Sneak a glance out back and see the Halibrand quick-change rear axle with 3.31 rear gear. This gearing gives a great balance of highway drivability and acceleration. With a fresh repaint in 2012, this ’32 looks better than new. Step inside and find yourself greeted with one of the classiest interiors ever put in a vehicle from this era. The synthetic material not only looks incredible, but is much more durable than traditional leather, so it will keep its good looks for years to come. 1979 Chevrolet Malibu

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this absolutely wild 1979 Chevrolet Malibu. This Malibu is a far cry from the standard grocery-getter that Chevy was stamping out by the thousands. Powering this monster is a 454 big block V8 stroked out to 496 cubic inches backed up to a beefy TH-400 transmission sandwiching a 5000rpm stall converter. The 496 is spinning an Eagle 4340 crankshaft with Eagle H-beam rods topped with SRP 13.5:1 pistons. A pair of Pro Comp Aluminum ported heads round out the long block for a very healthy amount of power on tap. Taking care of getting air and fuel in the engine is a Victor JR intake and a 950 CFM Holley Carburetor. A custom set of Lemons Headers spew the exhaust fumes through a pair of Spintech mufflers for the sound of a beautifully orchestrated chaos. While all of that power makes for killer sound and plenty of tire smoke, there’s more to going fast than just having power; it needs to be effectively put to the pavement. With SPC upper control arms and TRZ lower control arms working in tandem with Qa1 adjustable coil overs, this Malibu grips and rips. A Moser 12-bolt packed fill with 4.10 gears and 30-spline axles resides out back, more than capable of handling the powerplant. A custom frame was fabricated with a 4-link suspension set up to keep the Moser properly located. Making sure the body and frame stay as solid as possible, a 10-point roll cage was installed and painted black to blend in with the gorgeous interior. The two-tone gray paint with the red stripe absolutely pops under the sun. The paint looks deep enough that you could take a dive in it and never come back out. The color scheme is tied through the seats in the interior making for a very complete and well thought out design. The seats were custom redone to match the paint! A switch panel is mounted in the redesigned dash to give the driver total control over all of the electronics of the vehicle, while a master disconnect can set the Malibu in hibernation for any extended downtime. Plenty of custom work is massaged into all aspects of this vehicle, and the hard work really paid off making for an extremely well-finished vehicle. This 1979 Chevrolet Malibu is a very well put together car and should fill your trophy case with ease after only a few shows. Not to be mistaken with a Panel Truck, this is a two-door station wagon equipped with a driver and front passenger seat only. The heart of this old school wagon is a 350-cubic inch GM crate motor that was purchased and installed brand new 3 years ago. At this time, the 700R4 transmission was put in as well, and delivered power to the posi 3.55:1 rear end. About a year after the motor and transmission were done, the car got some new paint. The black exterior is accented nicely by the understated appearance which is what leads so many to love this style of vehicle. Looking inside, the gray vinyl interior allows one to comfortably sit inside when you’re on your way to deliver a small parcel, or headed to the car show in anticipation of yet another trophy. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro RS SS

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this incredible 2010 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS. While the 5th generation of the Camaro still has plenty of years to become a “collectible,” this particular example got a bit of a head start. This is not only one of the 50 “Early Order” package Camaros, it is believed to be the first 5th generation Camaro delivered in North America! Of course, it is an RS/SS, giving it the beastly 6.2L LS3, and GM did this one right with a 6-speed manual transmission. With a factory rating just north of 400 horsepower at the crankshaft, the owner of this early build wanted to really make the car something special. Several hands were laid on the vehicle, including Aaron Kaufman most known from Gas Monkey Garage (see his signature in the engine compartment!) to turn this standard RS/SS into a fire-breathing monster churning out an otherworldly 540 rear-wheel horsepower naturally aspirated! All that power does no good if it can’t get to the ground, so a set of actual Copo Camaro rims was sourced with a set of Mickey Thompson ET Streets to get the job done. Everyone loves to go fast, and plenty of people like to look good, but the seller of this car refuses to have his cars look anything less than breathtaking. The original GM paint looks good from the factory, but good wasn’t good enough. After 60+ hours on the factory paint job wet sanding, buffing, and otherwise correcting the work of two-robots, you see the masterpiece presented here. Get within 15 feet of this car, and you can almost feel it’s presence. Turn the key and hear the beast wake with an angry growl. With just over 2,100 miles, this early 2010 is practically brand new! This stout Camaro will teach any show car a thing or two, and will impress almost anyone who sees it. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this “brand new” 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition. “Like new” is a term often abused when selling pre-owned vehicles. This ’13 Boss, however, is better than like new. With only 409 actual miles on this modern-muscle track monster, the possibilities are limitless. Powered by the 5.0l “Coyote” modular V8 partnered with a 6-speed manual and independent rear suspension, performance is paramount. The Laguna Seca only had two optional upgrades; a Torsen rear differential and Recaro seats. This example is equipped with both options. With a 0-60 time rated at 4.2 seconds, this Mustang competes with cars priced much higher. Black on black has always given sports cars an aggressive look, and this Mustang pulls it off flawlessly. The reflective silver “BOSS 302” hockey-stick stripes really pop. From the factory, Ford put a cut-out style exhaust system to give a little extra sound and exhaust flow, but the hassle of climbing under the car to remove the block off plates gets real old real quick. The seller of this 1-owner Boss opted to have remote electric cut outs installed to open the dumps without needing to deal with the hassle of getting under the car. With the pipes closed, it sounds like any other mildly modified mustang, but open the valves and this baby sounds like a true road racer. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beastly 1971 Chevrolet Corvette. Powered by what is believed to be the original LS-5 454 big block Chevrolet V8 engine factory rated at 365 horsepower, this fiberglass performance machine is a rocket. With a 4-speed manual transmission, you are always able to get yourself right in the sweet spot for making power. That LS-5 under the hood didn’t stay at 365 horsepower, however. In 2007 this Corvette went through a full restoration, and that included a tear down of the big block to pump a bit more thump into it. It was bored .030” over and given a set of blueprinted oval port iron heads to maximize flow. True Corvette fans will note the strange color combination. One of today’s most popular colors, black, was never optioned in the ’71 model year. This vehicle was originally painted Ontario Orange with a Saddle interior. The restorer of the vehicle wanted to have an original big block car with black paint and blue interior, but it didn’t exist, so he made his own! During the restoration and entirely new fuel system, including gas tank and lines, were installed as well as a new ignition system and an overhaul on the A/C system. All of that work totaled north of $60,000 in receipts, and it shows. As one would expect, with all of that work this ‘Vette drives like a dream; plenty of power, smooth road feel, and easy to drive. This completely restored Corvette is beauty and the beast. It would look just as good sitting in a showroom in an aggressive pose to been shown off to friends and family as it would ripping through downtown after sunset showing the younger crowd what muscle really means. This is a fine example of a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 383 V8. Dressed in Orange and a confederate flag on the roof this old Dodge is ready to run moonshine on the backroads all while running from the law. Although this General Lee was not built by Cooter and the boys, this is a solid vehicle restored and built with love for the iconic TV series and a memorial to the south. Even Cousin Dixie and Uncle Jesse think this is a fine example of the General Lee. The amount of Chargers used in filming the Dukes of Hazard varies from source to source but likely ranges between 255 and 325. Approximately 17 from the original series still exist making this tribute car a nice alternative to sourcing one from the show. You will notice a few differences from the TV General Lee and this example. This one has never jumped a bridge, barn or river. The doors are not welded shut for easy access and the windows are powered too! Interior is clean and neat with no rips or tears in the split bench seats. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this monstrous 2015 Ford Mustang GT convertible. Having become a recent trend, these “modern muscle” late-model powerhouses are the next wave of hot rods. This ’15 Mustang is a great example of what this movement is all about. The owner took a brand new Mustang GT off the showroom floor, an already impressive car, and drove it for a few thousand miles before the bug bit him hard to start getting just a little bit quicker than the guy in the other lane. Pretty soon a full build was laid out with a Paxton 2200SLsupercharger being the centerpiece to this incredible machine. Helping the engine breath better is a JLT cold air intake and a full 3” exhaust. You’ve heard the phrase “spinnin’ ain’t winnin’” and that is the truth. The seller of this vehicle wanted to make this car a winner, so a Circle D torque converter was put in to flash the engine right into the power band. BMR lowering springs and Viking drag shocks help the ‘Stang efficiently transfer weight to the rear of the car and hook down to very respectable times. So far the car has easily traversed the “1320” in 10.29 seconds! Once a car starts hitting those times, things tend to break. Not to worry! Precautions were taken to make the drive train as resilient as possible, including DSS axles, a DSS 1-piece driveshaft, and a BMR drive shaft safety loop. This helps make sure all 720+ rear wheel horsepower gets put to good use! With only 4,500 miles on this extremely high-performance and very clean Mustang, it is ready for the long haul!
