The tires are wrapped around Z06 Spider Corvette wheels. 18’ in the front and 19’ on the rear. With a stunning silver metallic exterior and an amazing clean interior, this Corvette is a dream car. Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. We all dreamed about finding a “unicorn” car. A car so rare it sends the collector car world into a frenzy. There are very few cars that call mass hysteria. The ones that come to mind are the 1966 Shelby Cobra twin-turbocharged “Super Snake” (2 made 1 survivor) or a “Dodge Daytona”, another limited production car. If you can locate one of these cars, they bring six and seven figures in the collector car world. So, if these cars are bringing in that kind of money and are cars people know existed, then what value would you put on a car that never was supposed to exist? This brings me to the term “ghost”, or “phantom” car. These cars are vehicles that were never supposed to leave the manufacture for one reason or another. In this particular case, Chevrolet completely shut down the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport program deeming it against the corporate racing policy. There are five confirmed early Grand Sport’s, with talks of a sixth that has never been verified. In the early days of race car and muscle car production, manufactures were known to send parts and cars out the “backdoor.” What are we dealing with here when talking about this 1963 Chevrolet Grand Sport? This car was purchased from the previous owner who owned it for 37 years. The current owner bought the car in pieces and is responsible for presenting it now as a finished car. The previous owner resided in Michigan and started collecting parts to return the car back to its glory days. Once health issues started settling in, he was forced to move on from the Vette. The previous owner stated the car had its tubular frame replaced, which I’m assuming was due to rot. Once the current owner acquired the car in pieces, he began a journey along with a GM specialist, to restore the “Grand Sport” back to its hay day. After a long, extensive restoration period, the car is done in white exterior and red interior. You can see right off there are some very telling signs that this Grand Sport Vette is not one of the 5 or 6 that were raced. It shows newer style seats and reproduction wheels. It does have the cross-ram racing intake with the Weber carburetors. It also has a 1963 casting number block, and a 200 mile per hour speedometer. You’re correct, that’s not enough to say this is possibly a “Real” Grand Sport 1963 Corvette. The absolute two most important attributes of this car are its VIN and the TITLE. The VIN number reads S0837X10008 and the TITLE matches. All of the experts are sure about what this car is until it comes to one question they can’t explain. How does this car have that VIN number and a matching title? The experts have said this is an authentic Chevrolet VIN plate. So… if it is a “real” 1963 Chevrolet Corvette displaying characteristics that only the Grand Sport Vette VIN plates had, then technically this would be a real 1963 Chevrolet Grand Sport, right? The owner also states this is a Numbers Matching 327 engine, and 4-speed manual transmission. Is this a “unicorn”? A mythical car that somehow made its way out of the backdoor of the GM plant. That would explain why documentation is virtually non-existent. Options include Vinyl Interior, Kill Switch, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, and Weber 42 Carb System. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this unbelievably custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. The 55 Chevy Bel-Air is arguably one of the best-looking cars ever built. There clean lines and finless design make them great candidates for full on custom builds. Art Morrison started out building frames for tubbed out drag cars in the 70’s and 80’s but the company really took off when he began building his line of pro-touring chassis’. This 55 is sitting on one of his custom-built frames which not only looks good but increases the handling of the car dramatically. Finished off in the same Erica red paint as the body making the transition from floor pan to frame almost seamless. With touches of chrome here and there to break it up you can tell this was a well thought out build. The stance of the car was also dramatically changed due to the chassis as well with it sitting much lower than a stock 55. The wheels will be the next thing you notice with the set consisting of 18’s in the front and 20’s in the back giving the car that aggressive look. Behind those wheels are a set of chrome plated calipers that blend nicely while the cross-drilled and slotted rotors show people you mean business. Under that silky-smooth hood is was most consider the Mecca of LS powerplants. This LS7 has been built with a mild cam giving it a nice lope at idle but the real work is in the details. The intake has been painted to match with the custom firewall being cleaned up which flows into the custom inner fender wells. A custom piece of metal was formed to cover up the radiator as well making this engine bay look seamless like the rest of the car. Putting power to the road is a built 4l60 transmission giving you the capability to drive this beauty down the freeway comfortably at highway speeds. Inside the custom touches are extensive with the dash being made from one piece of metal as well. The gauges and AC vents are molded into that custom dash as well keeping with that flowing design. The leather wrapped seats are extremely comfortable while the Lokar shifter sits perfectly in the custom-made console. With this car being a fresh build and never shown to the public this beauty is guaranteed to collect a whole room of trophies or do what this car was intended to do Drive It! Professionally frame off build and restored. Chevrolet produced the first series of the Nomad’s from 1955 till 1957. For many car enthusiasts the 57 model is the top of the line, crème de la crème version. It doesn’t happen often that these wagons roll into our showrooms. There is only one phrase that can describe the engine compartment, “Wow that is beautiful”!!! Lots of chrome everywhere. Take a peak underneath the Nomad and you will be very satisfied too. Sending that modern power to the rear end is a five speed manual transmission that shifts firmly through the gears with an extremely short shifter throw. This car having a modern powertrain, of course it has disc brakes all around that provide a good initial bite along with firm stopping power thanks to a wilwood master cylinder. Moving outward, the exterior of the car is finished in a traditional light blue metalic that looks very nice and correct for the era of car. Finishing the stinger hood is a white stripe. Overall the paint is in very good condition and shows well. Supporting each corner of this beauty are chrome alloy wheels wrapped in low profile performance tires with good life left in them likely sourced from a C5. The white soft top is also in very good condition and moves freely as it should. Upon entering the cabin, the driver will be greeted by a light blue interior to match the exterior. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. This is without question one absolutely gorgeous '69 Camaro! There isn't much that wasn't customized, and it shows. It’s easy to throw a ton of aftermarket parts on a car. This took some serious time and attention to detail. Let’s start with the obvious first. Painted in a beautiful shade of red with white stripes or a gorgeous white leather interior and riding on a set of custom Billet Specialties aluminum wheels. This isn't just a nice paint job though. The front bumper is a narrowed and reshaped 1969 Camaro bumper mounted with custom brackets. The lower valance has a lower grill opening with a stainless steel grill, the upper grill opening has been smoothed and features driving lights/ turn signals from a ’69 Camaro. The lower air dam and fender extensions are a one off from molded fiberglass. The upper grill opening is smoothed and recessed to accommodate quad headlights from a 1970 Oldsmobile and a hand fabricated stainless grill with a relocated hood release. The hood features a steel cowl induction that was welded from underneath and smoothed all around. The front fenders have lower extensions molded ahead and behind the wheel opening and smoothed. All the inner front panels and support systems were smoothed, relocated and painted to match the body. The doors were also smoothed and utilize 2003 GM latch and handle systems for a clean appearance. The side rocker panels were extended the full length to give an even and finished look to the bottom edges. The rear quarters, you guessed it, smoothed with the rear side lights removed and the ends of the rear spoiler molded in place. The rear decklid is similar and features an original spoiler that was reshaped and molded in place. The rear body panel has reversed tail lamps fabricated from a ’69 Camaro and a welded in pop up gas cap. The rear bumper is also a 1969 unit that has been trimmed to fit. All the painted surfaces are PPG base coat clear coat Super Red with Silver Pearl. Once you raise the hood, you’ll see another cowl induction unit that is functional and removable. Lurking beneath this work of art is a very well built 468 Big Block that balanced and blue printed utilizing a solid roller camshaft and 10.5:1 compression. Other notable engine details include aluminum small chamber rectangular port cylinder heads with 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust valves, .620 lift camshaft, single plane intake manifold topped by a 830 CFM carburetor and aluminum accessories and pullies. Big blocks have a reputation for running hot, that can be easily addressed and was with this build thanks to a HD aluminum radiator and dual electric fans set up to cool 650 horsepower. The music this engine makes is the result of ceramic coated headers flowing through a set of custom stainless steel pipes and mufflers. Transferring this beautiful power plant to the ground is a 2005 Dodge Viper 6-speed, heavy duty clutch converted to hydraulic actuation and finally to a 12 bolt rear end housing a set of 4.10 posi traction gears. Slowing things down is a breeze thanks to four wheel disc brakes. Even though this car is presumed to strictly be a show car, it will do what you ask of it. The suspension and chassis were not missed. The front suspension has been heavily modified and includes shaved side rails and cross member, new tubular control arms, coil over shocks, a quick ratio steering box, heavy duty sway bar and dropped spindles for the aggressive ride height. All parts are painted in a gloss red and silver urethane finish. The underside has all new floors, unibody subframe connectors and additional braces for a more rigid chassis. The rear suspension and undercarriage are also heavily modified. Wheel tubs moved inboard two inches, shocks relocated, springs lowered and moved inboard, traction bars installed, new bearings and seals. Other modifications include a new fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, relocated battery(trunk), stainless steal lines and fasteners throughout. Altered oil pan, steering linkage, transmission mount and tunnel. The last area to cover and one of our favorites, the interior. The all white interior is very easy on the eyes and just feels fresh. The guys over at Recovery Room Hot Rod interiors did an amazing job. Hats off to these guys! Custom is the theme here as is the rest of the build. Custom white leather on most surfaces, new easy to read instruments for the custom dash, a tilt steering column, Sony CD player, custom rear deck with speakers, hand brake replacing the old foot actuated parking brake, custom center console that houses power windows switches, electronic fuel pump switch and the battery cut off. Freshly-minted and now for sale in our Houston showroom is this spectacular all-steel 1938 Chevrolet Coupe. Cloaked in a stellar Porsche Guards Red PPG finish, this is one for all ages. The restoration started with the steel body shell, and a Superior Glass Works Chassis, with fully boxed steel frame rails. Everything was taken to bare metal before any finish work was begun. A new LS3 crate motor was installed, with a FAST intake and FAST fuel rails. A set of coated shorty headers and a full stainless 2.5” exhaust setup, complete with stainless X-pipe, scavenges the spent fuel to the rear with a throaty burble. To the aft of the beefy powerplant, a new 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission with a 3200RPM stall torque converter to aid in providing excellent launches. The 6-speed auto provides excellent highway cruising capabilities, with surprisingly efficient operation. There are two dual finned-aluminum transmission coolers for the tranny to help it keep it at optimum temperature during spirited driving. Controlling the 6L80E’s shifts is a Corvette-style shifter, complete with electronic paddle-shift control capabilities on the gear knob. You’ll feel comfortable knowing that you can drive this thing like its sportscar powertrain wants you to, with handling and ride to match. The front end is a complete Heidts SupeRide II independent front suspension, with tubular upper and lower control arms, sway bar, QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks, 12” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers, and a power rack and pinion steering setup. Out back are QA1’s, a triangulated 4-bar link setup, torsion-style sway bar, an all-new quick-change Currie Ford 9” rear end and third member with 2.75:1 gears and a True-Track limited slip differential, and 11” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers complete with E-brake. The power-assisted braking setup is also equipped with a proportioning valve, allowing for fine-tuning the front/rear braking balance. A set of Nitto performance radials (215/50-17 front, 235/65-17 rear) wrapped around American Racing Salt Flat Special 5-hole wheels help keep this retro-rod stuck to the pavement. Inside this modernized classic, you’ll find that all the chrome trim shines like it’s brand new, and it is abundant. From the chrome window surrounds, windshield and rear window trim, to the door and window levers, everything glistens. There are a few hidden secret gems, too: the chrome window cranks don’t move – a light touch upward will raise the power windows, and a similar light touch will lower them. Equipped with what seems to be power everything, this car has plenty of creature comforts that one wouldn’t expect in a vintage auto. Power windows, power locks, a trick Painless “Phantom Key” Keyless Ignition with a proximity-sensing key fob (which provides a very cool pushbutton start and is part of the security system), custom Vintage Air system with billet nozzles, and power seats with 8-way adjustability and lumbar support cover most of the features, but not all. This stunning ’69 stands out from other Camaros with its modern fuel injected engine, updated suspension, and smooth shifting new 4 speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet engineers made this production Performance LS3 6.2L Crate Engine to deliver a stunning 495 horsepower and 473 lb.-ft. of torque. This car is the dream mix of bad to the bone appearance with modern fuel injection modern technology. A major benefit of EFI systems is the greatly improved cold and hot starting performance. This follows from the ability of the system to calculate the optimum air/fuel mixture for starting as well as from the superior atomization that results from injection of the fuel as compared to fuel delivery from a carburetor. If you take a peak under the car you will notice that this car could be literally eaten off of. The HEDTS suspension for the front and rear are all new and set up to be a comfortable driver with coil over shocks. This Camaro SS is set up with a Ford 9” rear end and has amazing stopping power with its adjustable master cylinder and Corvette style disc brakes. This car rumbles with its duel exhaust in idle and has a pure performance feel when accelerating. The style of this car comes from the exterior with its beautiful dark red paint, white hockey stick stripes, and white SS badges. The aggressive stance comes from its deep dish offset 18” in the front and 20” in the rear custom wheel setup. Matching the white accents on the exterior, the interior has comfy white leather bucket seats. The modern feel follows to the inside of the car with its custom sound system and Bluetooth paring abilities. This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. When initially released in 1953 the Corvette was intended to compete with the smaller European sports cars of that era. Harley Earl developed the initial design which was sleek smaller 2 seat sports car that looked amazing and caught everyone’s attention, but the price would seem to be a major setback. Having that said GM would only sell 3640 units in 1954 making these extremely collectible today. This particular beauty has been treated to a yearlong frame off restoration with pictures and receipts included with the sale. Once completed the car was driven for about 600 miles and put on display at the Corvette museum in Bowling Green KY for enthusiasts to enjoy. The body was taken off and stripped down and then painted back to its original white color which still looks amazing today. With all of the chrome either replaced or brought back to its original luster it easy to see why so many caught the Corvette bug. The frame was treated to the same process which not only insured the structural integrity but gave the underneath a fresh and clean look. The original, numbers matching, blue flame six was cleaned up with the original 2 speed power glide given the same treatment. With the engine and transmission back together, they were placed back onto that freshly painted frame. With the body completed it was dropped back onto the frame giving this 1954 Corvette its new lease on life. The red interior was the last step with the red really popping against that white exterior. The tan convertible top is in excellent shape and shows well but this car was meant to be seen with the top down. Press the button between the seats and place the top in the hidden storage area and the 1954 Corvette has the look of a true roadster. When it is all said and done this Corvette is sure to make the next owner a very happy person. Powered by a fully chromed out and polished 454 big block, so clean you could eat off it. The powerhouse engine is mated to a 700 R4, 4-speed automatic transmission, this SS gets up to speed before you can say “Holy Shift”. It has a Currie 9inch posi-traction rear end with 3:73 gear ratio. This pro-built engine puts out a Monstrous 500hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque that will throw you back in your seat. The engine has a Holley 750cfm carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, Hooker headers, March pulleys, and Flaming River 240 amp alternator. The SS also has an electric fuel pump, dual electric cooling fans, and functional cowl induction. Performance goodies on this Chevelle Hotchkis rear suspension, Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes, and a reinforced frame. The color on this gorgeous convertible is freshly done in a Crystal Red Tincoat with light brown stripes. The body on this restomod is laser straight and the paint is flawless. The custom interior features a two tone beige upholstery, a top of the line sound system with satellite radio and navigation system from Pioneer, Focal, and JL audio. You will also find an instrumentation by Dakota Digital, a push button start, security system, and electric windows. Also inside this classic is a chrome, Flaming Rivers, tilt steering column. This car is equipped with a Vintage Air system to keep you chillin on hot days with the top down. Speaking of the top, a new beige, cloth top with glass window and matching parade boot make this Chevelle a complete package.
