1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Engine: 460 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 80805 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a handsome 1977 Lincoln Mark V. In the 1970s, a luxury car was all about presence. With gas costing just a few dimes per gallon, an expanding network of interstate highways, and a surviving obsession with cubic inches, this Lincoln is the epitome of 1970s American excess. With a body totaling nearly 20 feet long, and a hood about the size of a queen sized mattress, there is no shortage of... car. Pop that massive hood and you'll uncover a 460 CID V8 which is more than capable of pulling this land yacht down the highway in style and comfort. The transmission is of course and automatic, and power everything (nearly) leaves the driver in control, yet completely relaxed. This is the type of car you can steer with one finger. This particular Mark V sports a white exterior with a white landau top. The interior features white leather upholstery to match as well as some blue accent pieces for a little contrast. The car is in good surviving original condition and has only 80,773 showing on the odometer. The car runs and drive's nicely and would make a nice first collector car for someone, or a nice stylish daily driver which still has most of the modern creature comforts we've come to expect. You can see this lovely Mark V in greater detail in our Chicago location or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 708-444-4488 or Chicago@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

1989 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: 5.7L V8 TPI OHV

Mileage: 51960 ( actual )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this immaculate 1989 Chevrolet Corvette. Packing a potent 350 cubic inch V8 tucked tidily away under the signature reverse-opening hood, this fiberglass chariot is ready to tame the open road. The 4-speed overdrive transmission in this ‘Vette, known for being bulletproof, shifts smoother than silk, and pots the power down with ease, while giving great fuel economy. While the overall shave of the Corvette hasn’t changed much since the C4 generation, the wheels certainly have. Thankfully, the seller of this Corvette thought it wise to upgrade to a set of chrome 3-spoke wheels from a later-model Corvette. This little red Corvette has a smooth, clean coat of paint laid on the muscular lines. The red theme ties into the interior with red leather and interior panels, making this as red-blooded as they come! Helping give this Corvette a bit more rumble than the factory had set up for, a set of muffler eliminators have been installed. Barely breaking past 51,000 original miles, this ’89 Corvette is practically new! The glass is so clear you may not even notice it’s there! 1989 Ford Fire Truck

Engine: Caterpillar V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 35784 ( actual )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this awesome 1989 Ford Low Tilt C8000, Firetruck. In the late 1950s Ford began producing one of the longest running medium-duty cab-over engine truck lines, the C-Series. Production ran from 1957 all the way through 1990. The C-Series was the longest-produced commercial truck in North America at the time it ceased production, running for 33 years, and it still holds high ranks with currently being the third longest-produced. Powered by the numbers matching Caterpillar 10.4L Diesel V8 engine, this retired Firetruck spent many years serving American communities and accumulated just over 35,000 miles in doing so. Being a truck with a very specific purpose in mind, this vehicle does not have many creature comforts. It was, however, produced with safety in mind and equipped with seat belts for each occupant. With this truck being as heavy as it is, utilizing power steering and power (air) brakes allows it to drive quite gracefully. Finished in a bright, clean Fire Engine Red exterior, this truck shines like the diamond it is. The inside cab and rear reversed seats are all finished in a black vinyl that was designed, and has proven to hold up to the many years of seeing abuse due to its occupants taking emergency action. This truck is a very nice salute to our first responders, and deserves to be enjoyed for the rest of its retirement. Options include: Flip Top, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior. Mileage: 46190 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this sweet 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. The year 1963 was a very interesting time for the Galaxie. There were multiple different body style options including a 4-door, 2-door, and 2-door fastback; five different transmission options; as well as eight engine options available. This 2-door Galaxie is equipped with the 390 cubic-inch Ford big block that has a very nice, deep rumble. The transmission, a 3-speed automatic ensures a smooth shift each time you press the gas. This combination is solid and has proved itself for what is said to be the original 46,000 miles. The bright exterior is finished in Rangoon Red and is paired with a nice, complimenting white roof. When you sit down in the driver’s seat you will be comfortably greeted by a very nice Sandshell Beige vinyl interior. Sitting inside this car makes you think about what it would’ve been like, and in some cases, takes you back how it was to cruise back when this car was new in 1963. When the nicely optioned center-console shifter gets put into drive the car gets off to a smooth start and simply floats down the road. When you get to your destination and park the car, you’re going to have to look back and admire. If a classic, original styled ‘60s cruiser is what you’re looking for, then look no more because this is it. 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

Engine: 5.3L LS V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 90374 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this recently modified 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. What is modified you ask? Well, the factory 307 is known to be very reliable, but not all too quick. The seller really wanted to have a solid cruiser with a healthy dose of power, so that had to go. In its place is a carbureted 5.3l LS-based V8 out of a late-model Chevy SUV backed to a TH350 automatic. In addition to the aluminum intake and carb, a set of long tube headers were installed to optimize use of the space in the engine bay, and a mild cam was installed to bring power to right around 400 horsepower, which is plenty to get this G-body moving. The Cutlass still wears its original paint, and is still fitted with most of its original interior. A few tasteful upgrades were done to improve the driving experience, such as an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player and a B&M shifter. The otherwise factory interior is just as plush as the day it left the factory. The cranberry cloth seats are happy to hold you for longer cruises, making it feel like you are riding on a cloud. The tasteful 5-spoke chrome wheels make for a more modern look, while still retaining the authentic mid-muscle feel. With plenty of power tucked in a clean, original style package, this is a great example of hot-rodding. Options include: AM/FM/CD, Power Brakes, Power Door Locks, Power Steering, Power Windows, Seat Belts, and a Tilt Steering Wheel. Twenty six years after the first El Camino was put on the market, this fifth generation Choo Choo hit the road, ready for anything. This vehicle is powered by a 350 cubic inch crate engine and backed by a Turbo Hydramatic 350 transmission, both new at time of installation. The stock rear end sports a 3.73 gear ratio and has successfully seen just under 48,000 miles, while the engine and transmission have a mere 1,500 miles since new. Barely broken in, this beautiful ‘ute’ runs like a champ. The black base and clear coat paint makes you wish there was a lifeguard on duty, just in case you start to drown in the depths of this gorgeous exterior. Lifting the handle and opening the door, you are welcomed by the smooth burgundy interior that gives a perfect yet subtle contrast to the even darker surroundings. Whether inside the car staring at the road ahead, or outside the car looking at the special Choo Choo edition front fascia, it is impossible not to be impressed by one of the most underrated vehicles known throughout the world. This “gentlemans” pickup is ready for a new home, so don’t miss the opportunity to get such a legend. Options include: AM/FM Radio, Cloth Interior, Hub Caps, Power Brake, Power Door Locks, Power Steering, Power Windows, Radial Tires, Rally Wheels, Tilt/Telescopic Wheel.
