1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Engine: 460 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 80,805 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a handsome 1977 Lincoln Mark V. In the 1970s, a luxury car was all about presence. With gas costing just a few dimes per gallon, an expanding network of interstate highways, and a surviving obsession with cubic inches, this Lincoln is the epitome of 1970s American excess. With a body totaling nearly 20 feet long, and a hood about the size of a queen sized mattress, there is no shortage of... car. Pop that massive hood and you'll uncover a 460 CID V8 which is more than capable of pulling this land yacht down the highway in style and comfort. The transmission is of course and automatic, and power everything (nearly) leaves the driver in control, yet completely relaxed. This is the type of car you can steer with one finger. This particular Mark V sports a white exterior with a white landau top. The interior features white leather upholstery to match as well as some blue accent pieces for a little contrast. The car is in good surviving original condition and has only 80,773 showing on the odometer. The car runs and drive's nicely and would make a nice first collector car for someone, or a nice stylish daily driver which still has most of the modern creature comforts we've come to expect. You can see this lovely Mark V in greater detail in our Chicago location or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 708-444-4488 or Chicago@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 24,821 ( undocumented )

Our newest arrival at the Gateway Classic Cars Chicago, IL showroom is not for the average auto collector. At GCC, we embrace the enthusiasts that hold a devotion to big, beautiful cars from off the beaten path. When selecting American luxury, many have placed their votes with GM’s division of Cadillac, only to find themselves lost in a sea of trend followers. However, throughout the years, if you wanted to be taken seriously as a true individual with class, you rocked a Lincoln. Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Babe Ruth, Frank Lloyd Wright, and countless US Presidents would all agree with this opinionated declaration. Take a long gaze at this gorgeous 1978 Lincoln Mark V. With an impeccably clean interior and exterior, this is a shining example of everything previously mentioned; Command, luxury, and innovation. This year of the Mark V was the very last that offered the iconic 460 CID big block as an option. Like many other Mark V’s, this one was custom-ordered by the original owner to include cruise control, power windows, power brakes, power steering, power mirrors, and even an 8-Track radio. For sale in our Chicago showroom is this immaculate 1989 Chevrolet Corvette. Packing a potent 350 cubic inch V8 tucked tidily away under the signature reverse-opening hood, this fiberglass chariot is ready to tame the open road. The 4-speed overdrive transmission in this ‘Vette, known for being bulletproof, shifts smoother than silk, and pots the power down with ease, while giving great fuel economy. Thankfully, the seller of this Corvette thought it wise to upgrade to a set of chrome 3-spoke wheels from a later-model Corvette. This little red Corvette has a smooth, clean coat of paint laid on the muscular lines. The red theme ties into the interior with red leather and interior panels, making this as red-blooded as they come! Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a super cool 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. This little Beetle has come a long way since rolling off the assembly line in 1970. Gone is the original flat four which would’ve had something in the neighborhood of 57 horsepower. In it’s place is a freshly built Willy’s Racing Engines Dual Port 1,825cc. This screaming air cooler has twin34 Weber carbs, as well as a custom exhaust which allows it to really breathe. The result is about 200 horsepower and one of the fastest Beetles around. The car will attract a crowd everywhere it goes. It wears bright lime green and black two tone paint, and sports a unique roof “snorkel” which scoops air into the oil cooler. The transmission has been upgraded to a “Freeway Flyer” 4 speed and even the interior has been fully updated. As if it needed another way to gather attention, it’s party trick is the tilt forward fiberglass front end. What a great way to get into the classic car hobby. This Beetle could be the star of your next cruise night, and for a fraction of the price of a restored muscle car. The really fun part is, with the light weight, and the increased horsepower, you might even surprise a few muscle cars off the line! 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

Engine: 5.3L LS V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 90,374 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this recently modified 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. What is modified you ask? Well, the factory 307 is known to be very reliable, but not all too quick. The seller really wanted to have a solid cruiser with a healthy dose of power, so that had to go. In its place is a carbureted 5.3l LS-based V8 out of a late-model Chevy SUV backed to a TH350 automatic. In addition to the aluminum intake and carb, a set of long tube headers were installed to optimize use of the space in the engine bay, and a mild cam was installed to bring power to right around 400 horsepower, which is plenty to get this G-body moving. The Cutlass still wears its original paint, and is still fitted with most of its original interior. A few tasteful upgrades were done to improve the driving experience, such as an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player and a B&M shifter. The otherwise factory interior is just as plush as the day it left the factory. The cranberry cloth seats are happy to hold you for longer cruises, making it feel like you are riding on a cloud. The tasteful 5-spoke chrome wheels make for a more modern look, while still retaining the authentic mid-muscle feel. With plenty of power tucked in a clean, original style package, this is a great example of hot-rodding. Options include: AM/FM/CD, Power Brakes, Power Door Locks, Power Steering, Power Windows, Seat Belts, and a Tilt Steering Wheel. For more information on this sporty 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com.
