1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Tribute

1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Tribute

Engine: 462 V8 Big Block
Transmission: Turbo 400
Mileage: 1,965 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is a nasty 1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Clone. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a two-door coupé that was produced by Chevrolet through six generations from model year 1970 to model year 2007. This once timid 1982 Monte Carlo has turned into a fire breathing, earth pounding, head turning Super Sport clone with a take no prisoner attitude that is STREET LEGAL!!!! . Pumping life into this beast is a 454 CID V8, .040 over, steel rods, cast crank, Comp hydraulic cam, roller rocker arms, oval port heads, Victor Jr. intake oval port, Holley 950 double pumper carburetor, MSD distributer, MSD 6AL box and blaster 3 coil, Miloden 7 qt oil pan, ARP bolts(head, rod, main), SFI flex plate, Taylor 10mm spark plug wires, chrome alternator, March Billet pulleys, remote oil filter, forged pistons, and a 3500 stall. Phew!!! What's this all mean? Not only 550+ horsepower, but also 535 lb ft of torque are getting cranked out of this incredible Big Block Chevy. This power is then routed through a Turbo 400 transmission, with TCI aluminum trans pan, braided lines, custom transmission cross member, Hurst quarter stick, Hurst roll control, drive shaft loop, and balanced drive shaft. Putting this power to the pavement is a rear end built and assembled by Curry Enterprise, a 9 inch Ford rear end narrowed 2 inches on each side, with Curry 31 spline axles, and a Detroit locker with 3.70 gears. The rear frame rails have been moved in 3 inches and it's been mini-tubbed. Stopping this Chevy isn't a problem with the Wilwood 4 piston calipers in the front and dual piston calipers in the rear. Wilwood vented rotors are in the front and rear as well. While looking underneath, also note the gas shocks all around, Hotchkis upper and lower control arms with tubular lateral links in the rear, and Hotchkis upper A-arms in the front. In the front are F-body spindles, rebuilt lower A-arms and all new steering components including tie rod ends, adjustment sleeves, center link, idler arm, hangers, bushings, sway bar bushings, end link, brake lines and fittings. Temperature is not a problem, the engine is kept cool by a Griffin aluminum radiator, closed radiator panel and TCI 15-1/2 x 10 inch transmission cooler. The exhaust gives this animal the roar it deserves. It all starts with the 2 inch Hooker Super Competition headers and followed up with 3 inch Torque Tech exhaust and 3 inch 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers. All of this is welded and band clamped, and there's even stainless steel header bolts. If that wasn't enough, all of the exhaust is also powder coated. But that's not all, the undercarriage is a satin black, gloss gray and gloss purple. If you can tear yourself away from looking underneath this Monte, then take a step back and look at the exterior. The body is draped with Toyota Super White paint #040. The engine compartment is even painted with a high gloss black. The custom Burgundy interior has an embroidered head rest and dash. Autometer gauges encompass this interior. The trunk also is custom with a custom fuel cell cover. Under the custom cover is a RCI 16 gallon fuel cell. The fuel is fed by a Holley blue pump with fuel filter. The Weld Prostar aluminum polished wheels are all wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber. Photos and this awesome description simply do not describe how nice this car is. This is a true MUST SEE! If you are interested please feel free to make arrangements to see this car and be prepared to be anything but disappointed. If you like attention this finely detailed Monte Carlo is for you, it can be yours with one phone call!!! No disappointments on this beauty! 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Engine: 411 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 59,610 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this incredibly powerful 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA Tribute. How powerful you ask? How’s 840 horsepower? With a 411 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 sending all those ponies through a 2-speed automatic Powerglide spinning the custom aluminum driveshaft into the Ford 9” fabricated rear end. The aluminum center section houses a set of 4.56 rear gears to get the 29.5/10.5-15 racing slicks spinning and rocket this GTA down the quarter-mile in the 9’s at 146mph! The build was done starting in 2001. While 840 horsepower is very impressive, getting all that power to the ground is ultimately what matters. The 10.5 in slicks help plenty, but the mini-tub 4-link suspension really keep everything level. Plenty of work was worked into all spots of the chassis including frame ties, front suspension limiting straps, coilovers, and the 4-link suspension. Wilwood brakes on all 4 corners bring this white lightning to a halt quickly and safely. The engine and transmission have both been refreshed with no passes since. The vehicle has a title, but it is not currently street-legal and has 59,000 Miles. The paint was redone in 2011. With over 800 horsepower ready to slingshot you through the traps in the blink of an eye, this is one exhilarating machine. Options include: T-tops, Tilt Steering Wheel, Seat Belts, Kill Switch, Racing Wheels, Alloy Wheels, Posi-Traction Rear Axle, and Racing Slicks. Engine: 110 CID 4 CYL
Transmission: 2-Speed Manual
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this beautifully restored 1947 Kurtis-Kraft Midget #18. This car represents a great example of vintage post-war race car and would look great at any show. Powering this piece of history is a Offenhauser 110 CID DOHC 4-cylinder motor. This engine features Hilborn fuel injection which is said to be the first fuel injection system created and was desired by many racers of the era. Paired up with the engine is a 2-speed manual “in and out” transmission with your choice of either neutral or GO! The quick-change rear end made this car capable of interchangeable gearing for different racing needs to improve the odds of a win. To provide the stopping power of this beautiful beast is 4-wheel disk-brakes that sit behind 12” aluminum wheels with knock-offs. A complete tubed steel chassis and aluminum dash aided in the car being light weight improving its overall performance. 1969 Chevrolet Nova

1969 Chevrolet Nova

Engine:
Transmission:
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston showroom, Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is pleased to present this custom-built 1969 Chevrolet Nova race car. Bathed in the well-known performance shade of Hugger Orange, this Nova is turn-key ready for the track. This car was built by Pyle Brothers in Baytown, TX, and the professional build quality is evident. From the full tubular chassis and integrated roll cage, one can easily spot a purpose-built drag car. Sporting a huge snorkel hood scoop, Strange Engineering high-torque axles, and Strange Engineering braking (multipiece slotted and drilled rotors front and rear, Strange multi-piston calipers front and rear), multi-piece Weld Drag wheels at all four corners, M/T skinnies up front, M/T 33x15.0x15 slicks out back, and wheelie bars, this car says "race-only baby!", even from a distance. Under the hood is a massive 490 CID big block Chevy V8 (built by Houston Engine and Balancing), sporting Dart heads and valve covers, an Edelbrock high-rise aluminum manifold, Holley race carb, and a gigantic deep sump oil pan. Uncapped race headers help route the spent combustion mix, which they do very effectively, and with tremendous sound and fury. Twin electric fans keep the radiator temp in check, and the electric water pump keeps the coolant flowing with no loss of power or cooling efficiency. A competition-prepped GM Powerglide 2-speed automatic handles the single gear change from tree to the finish line, and it'll take everything that 490 CID V8 can dish out, plus more. A full competition-approved fuel cell and the trunk-mounted Optima battery are easy to get to by removing the Dzus-fastened trunk, and more Dzus fasteners allow easy access to key driveline components normally covered by the floor pan. Out back, a Ford 9-inch rear end serves as part of a fully adjustable multi-link rear suspension with Drag Coil-over shocks and wheelie bar serve to keep the rear end planted and the front end out of the sky at launch. Inside, the driver has all controls within easy reach, and fingertip controls make it easy, with the Painless wiring setup and control panel being reachable even when the driver is fully belted into the Kirkey racing bucket with the massive Simpson race harness. This back-halved car is ready to hit the strip with no excuses, and is ready for the pit crew between passes, with its abundant Dzus fasteners providing easy on/off of hood and trunk. The chassis and cage are 2016 NHRA certified, with certification number A710909, for 8.50 and slower ET vehicles. A full set of gauges help the driver keep track of critical functions, and a removable steering wheel helps for easier ingress/egress before and after your hot passes. 1972 Chevrolet Camaro

1972 Chevrolet Camaro

Engine: 496 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 3,451 ( since rebuilt )

This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 2nd generation Camaro was a huge success for GM running a total of 11 years. The fastback body design with its huge rear glass was a far cry from the 1ST Generation. This beautiful Silver with Black stripes split bumper actually began life as a SS396 which is super cool. The 396 has been replaced with a monster 496 that was built with one thing in mind, going fast in a straight line! The Brodix heads are made out of aluminum with many saying they are the best in the business. The huge aluminum radiator keeps everything at the perfect operating temperature with dual electric fans giving you that extra vote of confidence. The 1050 CFM Quick Fuel Dominator carb feeds this animal the high-octane gas it needs. If that’s not enough power for you hit the button on the fogger system and hold on for dear life. The TH350 Transmission was built to handle all that power with a trans brake allowing for true off the line hole shots. The Moser 10 bolt rear end has 3.89 Moser axles allowing for off the line acceleration while pulling hard through all 3 gears. With all that power propelling this beauty the brakes need to be just as good. The 4-wheel disc set up with its Wilwood master cylinder is exactly what this thing needed. Of course, going fast is fun but why not look good while doing it? The paint on the car is slick with a great shine while that fiberglass cowl hood ties in perfectly to the build. The RS front clip looks great but there is no way to tell if it came from the factory or not. Open the doors and you will see an interior that is very tasteful. The roll cage was done to keep you safe while still allowing for plenty of room. The front buckets are comfortable and look right at home with the racing harnesses keeping you right where you need to be. The ratchet style shifter is just where you want it allowing for quick shifts with a simple slap. Normally when cars like this are built you get either a car that looks great but lacks in the performance department or vice versa. Why not get this one and have a beautiful car that performs like it looks? Options on this 1972 Camaro include, AM/FM/CD, Power Steering, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, and Billet Wheels with Radial Tires. This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. 1971 Altered Dragster

1971 Altered Dragster

Engine: 440 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this one of a kind 1971 Altered Dragster. Powered by a 440 cubic inch big block V8 set up in front of the driver and paired with a TH400 automatic transmission, this baby hauls! This Dragster is well known in the Chicago area, as hit has been raced at several active and not defunct drag strips in the surrounding areas. While the bones of this dragster have remained the same over the years, some changes were made for long-term reliability, safety of the driver, and to stay competitive with other vintage racers. Most recently, the 440 V8 was completely gone through prepared for a full season with about 10 test passes on it to work out any last-minute bugs. The 440 started life as a 427, and was bored a very healthy .100” to pump up displacement. Helping take advantage of those extra cupes is a set of easy breathing Dart Pro 1 heads, a roller cam, and a massive 1050 Dominator carburetor. While a big engine is very important for making successful passes, any real racer knows the rest of the drivetrain is arguably even more important. This dragster has had the full treatment, including a 9” converter from Coan, a brand new TH400 transmission with a trans-brake, and a full Mark Williams 9” rear axle assembly sporting 4.10 gears. With consistent runs in the low 9 second range at over 150mph in the ¼ mile, the seller is confident that a high 8 second pass is attainable in good or better conditions. This classic dragster is ready to run as it sits, of put your own custom touches on this beast and make it your own! This vehicle does NOT have a title, and cannot be driven on any road legally. It is sold with a bill of sale only. For more information, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. 1963 Dodge 330 Max Wedge

1963 Dodge 330 Max Wedge

Engine: 426 Max Wedge Stroked to 440
Transmission: 727 Torque Flite
Mileage: 100 ( since rebuilt )

This awesome 1963 Dodge 330 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 330 was Dodge’s full-size car for 62-64 and was based on the B-body. Available with anything from the slant six to the monstrous 426 there was a 330 to fit anyone’s needs. The one that garnered the most attention was of course the Max Wedge. A monstrous 426 cubic with a cross ram style intake and 2 4 barrels sitting on top it was intimidating just to look at. Made in very limited numbers they are prized and sought after today. This beauty is one of those sought-after cars making it an extremely rare find. The engine powering this full on drag car is a 440 with wedge heads and that sought after cross ram intake. Built using a 1967 440 Block this engine is putting out quite a bit more power than the original one. The 426 Ramcharger heads have been worked over giving this beast an unbelievable amount of torque. The 727 Torque flight transmission has been built to handle all that power and still retains the push button transmission. The Dana 60 rear end has been stuffed with a set of 5.13 gears allowing for unbelievable off the line acceleration. With the spool locking up both axles this car was built to go straight. The huge 32 15 Goodyear slicks are exactly what you need to get this monster to hook up. The car has had one repaint back to its original red color and even though it was 40 years ago it still shows very well. The fiberglass rear bumper helps to shave some weight off while retaining the factory look. Inside is what you would expect in a drag car with just a seat for the driver. The cage while built for safety also makes the car more ridged. The Lexan windows are fixed in place and help to shave weight. If you are looking for a nostalgic drag car this Max Wedge 330 is just that. Options on this 1963 Dodge 330 include, Seat Belt, Vinyl Interior, and Racing Wheels with Skinny’s on the front and Drag Slicks on the back. You build one! This particular example was completely restored six years ago from a rust-free California body. Originally a 340 4-speed car, it was the perfect candidate for a full transformation from a respectable performance car to an all-out street bruiser. The equipment list reads like a Summit Racing catalog, using only the best factory and aftermarket performance goodies you can buy. It puts 600-plus horses to the ground, and it's awesome! Drivetrain was completely refurbished about 3500 miles ago. A brake upgrade makes sure this little Swinger stops reliably every time. Since he bought in May, 2015, the current owner has added a full array of AutoMeter gauges, a hidden Custom Autosound remote-controlled stereo with auxiliary media ports playing through JBL rear speakers. New red-line radials on classic Cragar chrome wheels give this bad-to-the-bone Dart its classic '60's muscular look. Under the Glasstek hood and between the glasstek fenders sits an evil 572 Cubic inch Big block Chevy that gulps down alcohol through a Ron’s terminator injection system that is rated at 1475 cubic feet per minute. The air and fuel then flow to the pro filer rectangular aluminum heads into the Merlin block where this mixture is compressed to 14 to 1. This bad boy has way too many high tech parts to list everything, let’s just say it’s very quick. Now, what good would all this horsepower be if you had no way to plant it to the ground? Ok, here we go. This beast of a ride has been back halfed using R.J. race cars four link with pro stock bars connecting it to the Strange center section housing 4.56 final gears. 1979 Chevrolet Malibu

1979 Chevrolet Malibu

Engine: 496 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 67 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this absolutely wild 1979 Chevrolet Malibu. This Malibu is a far cry from the standard grocery-getter that Chevy was stamping out by the thousands. Powering this monster is a 454 big block V8 stroked out to 496 cubic inches backed up to a beefy TH-400 transmission sandwiching a 5000rpm stall converter. The 496 is spinning an Eagle 4340 crankshaft with Eagle H-beam rods topped with SRP 13.5:1 pistons. A pair of Pro Comp Aluminum ported heads round out the long block for a very healthy amount of power on tap. Taking care of getting air and fuel in the engine is a Victor JR intake and a 950 CFM Holley Carburetor. A custom set of Lemons Headers spew the exhaust fumes through a pair of Spintech mufflers for the sound of a beautifully orchestrated chaos. While all of that power makes for killer sound and plenty of tire smoke, there’s more to going fast than just having power; it needs to be effectively put to the pavement. With SPC upper control arms and TRZ lower control arms working in tandem with Qa1 adjustable coil overs, this Malibu grips and rips. A Moser 12-bolt packed fill with 4.10 gears and 30-spline axles resides out back, more than capable of handling the powerplant. A custom frame was fabricated with a 4-link suspension set up to keep the Moser properly located. Making sure the body and frame stay as solid as possible, a 10-point roll cage was installed and painted black to blend in with the gorgeous interior. The two-tone gray paint with the red stripe absolutely pops under the sun. The paint looks deep enough that you could take a dive in it and never come back out. The color scheme is tied through the seats in the interior making for a very complete and well thought out design. The seats were custom redone to match the paint! A switch panel is mounted in the redesigned dash to give the driver total control over all of the electronics of the vehicle, while a master disconnect can set the Malibu in hibernation for any extended downtime. Plenty of custom work is massaged into all aspects of this vehicle, and the hard work really paid off making for an extremely well-finished vehicle. This 1979 Chevrolet Malibu is a very well put together car and should fill your trophy case with ease after only a few shows. Options include: Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel, Leather Interior, Kill Switch, Alloy Wheels, and a Posi Traction Rear Axle. For more information on this one of a kind 1979 Chevrolet Malibu, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. 1966 Plymouth Belvedere

1966 Plymouth Belvedere

Engine: 572 HEMI
Transmission: 727 John Cope
Mileage: 14,958 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this awesome 1966 Plymouth Belvedere Nostalgia Super Stock. Nostalgia Super Stock is a category of drag racing that recreates the glory days of the 60’s. Starting back in the mid 80’s there were quite a few guys beginning to revive the spirit of the original era which led to the class being formed. This 66 is a fitting example of what these cars are all about. No fancy ECU’s collecting data for the next hit or controlling spark and fuel mixtures on this beast. Just plain and simple raw power with the driver trying to get it to the ground. This 66 was a great car when started with the body in an excellent condition the attention was directed to the heart of the MOPAR. Built by Muscle Motors in Lansing MI, the 572 CI HEMI is a force to be contended with. Putting out a ground shaking 800 HP standing next to this behemoth at idle is something every gearhead needs to experience. With those massive Hemi heads taking up so much space it takes a couple looks to figure out how that got so much engine under that hood. With the cross-ram intake sitting on top getting enough fuel to this animal is the least of your worries. Built by John Cope the reverse manual valve body 727 trans is exactly what you would expect in such a build. Getting power to the ground is the bullet proof Dana 60 rear end which has been filled with a set of Moser 40 splined axles. The 4.56 gear set will get this MOPAR down the ¼ mile perfectly. The cage has been certified and meets the NHRA standards for nostalgia super stock with the fit being one of the best I have seen. The Gary Ball Super Stock interior is clean and what should be in the car keeping it as close to the real deal as possible. With a build expense into the 6 figures and only 20 passes on the car this would be an excellent way to get into one of the most competitive and coolest classes of drag racing there is. Options on this 1966 Plymouth Belvedere Nostalgia Super Stock include, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Bias Ply Drag Tires on the rear and Radial tires on the front. This 1966 Plymouth Belvedere is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
