For sale in our Chicago showroom is this very custom 1965 Chevrolet Corvair. The builder of this Corvair truly ignores all the rules on how to build a Corvair. Where a flat six engine would typically be hidden in the rear of the vehicle, now are a fuel cell and a big bottle for nitrous-oxide. Up front, however, the storage space has been converted to an engine bay housing a 406 CID small block V8 Chevrolet engine. The gears are shifted by a conventional TH-400 3-speed automatic transmission into a GM 10-bolt rear-end. The MSD ignition system makes sure this Corvair starts every time, and the tubular headers into a custom exhaust keep the power up and the sound aggressive.
The interior has had custom touches almost everywhere you look. The stock seats have been replaced with a set of Corbeau light weight sport seats with better bolsters to keep you held safely in place during any spirited driving sessions. Many gauges have been added to help you keep an eye on the engine conditions. A B&M floor shifter puts you in control of the gears when you stomp on the loud pedal. The convertible top moves up and down freely. The carpet shows minimal wear, and the glass is all in great condition. The trailer that comes with the vehicle was custom built from a chopped Corvair to match the tow-vehicle.
This very custom 1965 Chevrolet Corvair is sure to attract attention no matter what show you attend. Options include: Cloth Interior, Manual Convertible Top, Radial Tires, and Seat Belts.
