For sale in our Chicago showroom is this sinister ’56 Chevrolet 210. Packing big block power in the form of a 454 V8 and coupled to a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission, this tri-five means business! The engine has had some upgrades by way of Pfeiffers Engine Specialties. A new camshaft and solid lifters were installed to help squeeze extra power out of this rat motor, and boy did it work! A very respectable dyno run of 466 horsepower hit the rear wheels and 415ft-lbs of torque, making this one fun ride! With all that power, the body needed to be dressed up just a nice. It was stripped all the way down to metal, then smoothed out, massaged with custom louvers in the hood, and finally painted in this slick black paint, which it wears like a tuxedo.
Stepping inside this classic Chevy and you’ll find something all the Ford guys should recognize. That’s right, these are power seats straight out of a Thunderbird that have been reupholstered to match the rest of the interior. The black and red theme carries through the interior with the aftermarket steering wheel, custom skull shifter, and a driving buddy in the form of a skull in the rear window. The Muncie 4-speed shifts like butter, and the suspension is much sportier than what the factory setup is.
There are plenty of tri-five Chevrolets floating around these days, but few have the beauty and power of this ’56 210. Options include: AM/FM Radio, Cassette Player, Power Seats, Seat Belts, Cloth and Vinyl Interior, and Alloy Wheels with Radial Tires.
