Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1968 Ford Mustang Eleanor coupe. Custom paint, 17” Coys wheels, custom Eleanor hood, custom side headers and side pipes, a black billet Shelby gas cap, late model headlights, custom quarter scoops and smoothed bumpers are just the beginning of the killer looks on this Mustang. The rear end is Shelby all the way with a molded in spoiler, Shelby style taillights, reminiscent of the 1968 GT/CS - California Special. The two tone silver paint with custom pinstripe is breathtaking and the pictures do not do it justice. Under the hood sits a built yet very streetable 289 CID V8 engine. This is an original “C” code car, so this is no 6 cylinder conversion. This Mustang has had a V8 under the hood since the beginning. Built with an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke, mild camshaft, custom headers and Mallory ignition, she runs great and sounds even better. Inside you are greeted by a pop of color that really sets this car apart. The Red vinyl interior is made even more comfortable with power steering, power disc brakes, and A/C! The A/C controls are cleverly hidden in the glovebox. With less than 500 miles since the restoration and customization of this pony car, there is not much negative to talk about. It is a great build and is sure to win shows and draw stares. Tell your buddies to pick their chins up off the ground and hop in for a ride they will tell everyone about! Options include A/C, AM/FM/CD player, power brakes, power steering, vinyl interior, aluminum alloy wheels, radial tires, and seat belts. The 1967 and 1968 Mustang and Cougar body styles are widely loved and have spawned many iconic cars like Steve McQueen’s Bullitt Mustang, the GT500E known as Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds, the 1968 Shelby in Bull Durham, and others. If you want the Shelby Eleanor look but don’t want to spend six figures, this is the ride for you. Don't miss your shot at owning this one of a kind Mustang. Call us today and we will happily answer any questions you have.
