In its comeback year of 1965 it was the most popular car sold by Dodge with over 209,000 units sold. The trim levels in 1965 were the base Coronet, including a Deluxe version, the Coronet 440, and the Coronet 500. The Coronet 500 was the premium, or top of the line as far as Coronets were concerned. Just over 33,000 Coronet 500's were sold, and they featured 273 CID V8 base engine, bucket seats, padded dash, chrome console, and exterior trim and badging. Engine options included a 225 CID slant six cylinder, 273 CID V8, 318 CID V8, 361 CID V8, 383 CID V8, and the 426 CID V8 in multiple horsepower options.
