For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a stunning 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. This SS Chevelle was restored in 2002 and repainted its original paint color of Cranberry Red. During the restoration the car was fitted with black vinyl interior that included Strato bucket seats. The rest of the interior includes a center console, SS cluster instrumentation, Horseshoe handle shifter, AM/FM radio with cassette and a hi and low defogger. The outside is complimented with black SS stripes for the hood and deck lid and a set of 14" SS wheels with beauty rings and radial rubber. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration and makes great power. Rated from the factory with 360 horsepower and 500 lbs./ft of torque. The horsepower rating from GM was heavily underrated and was used to slide under the radar with boring lobbyist and insurance reasons. All of this power is backed up by a TH-400 automatic transmission and a 12 bolt rear-end housing 3.73 posi-traction gears. With all of that power and 3.73 gears, this car is not for the faint of heart. Most will refer to the 1970 big block Chevelle as the last of the greats as it would be the last year before compression ratios dropped and the muscle car era would soon come to an end. Here's an opportunity to own one of the most iconic muscle cars in a great color combination with awesome power.
