This 1962 Dodge Dart Station Wagon is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Dart was Dodge's entry level car based off the Plymouth. Dodge had sold Plymouth's since 1930 but due to brand restructuring Dodge would have to build their own car, well at least brand the Plymouth a Dodge. The Dart would begin with mixed reviews and a total of 4 redesigns over 7 years. The 62 was even based on a totally different platform and has become one of those one year wonders that collectors go ga ga over. This 62 wagon is a great example of what you could expect back then. The smooth red paint looks great and compliments the styling of the wagon nicely. With all of the britework in excellent condition the bumpers were rechromed and look as if they just came out of the dip. Under the hood one of MOPAR's original small block V8's. The 273 is a very strong and stout design with the same basic design carrying on for over 50 years. This 273 runs great with no signs or sounds of any wear you should get many years of enjoyment out of this killer small block. Ofcourse if you are going to go with one of MOPAR's, well let's say eccentric, power plants a transmission just as unusual yet cool should be used. Without a doubt when you jump in hit the key and press the button marked D you have to be asking yourself, why this never caught on so you could only imagine what they said back in 62. With the drivetrain and outside in excellent, ready to win some car shows, condition the interior would have to live up to some big expectations and it does. The seats are wrapped in a very clean dark red vinyl that matches the outside perfectly. With all of the original switches and gauges looking great the inside of this family cruiser is something to be proud of. Options on this 1962 Dodge Dart Wagon include, AM Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Rally Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1962 Dodge Dart Wagon can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call at 812-294-1555 or email Louisville@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information.
