Gateway Classic Cars in Houston have been honored with the chance to offer this beautiful unrestored and original 1956 Ford Thunderbird. It is finished in the stunning all original Peacock Blue exterior and Peacock Blue and white interior. With only 16,209 miles since its production and the original paint, it’s like time hasn’t effected this Thunderbird. It is a numbers matching vehicle and has the original 225hp 312 CID V8 and automatic transmission that it left the plant with back when Elvis was still releasing new hits on the radio! The panels are all original and the bodywork is also original. This car has 3 owners since new and one was the highly renowned Amos Minter in Dallas. He purchased the car from the original owner and the most recent owner purchased it from him. That alone is a testament to this car’s world class standing in the 55-56-57 Thunderbird area. It has won many awards in the past. It was judged the Highest Quality Unrestored Original 1955-1956-1957 Thunderbird for 2011 at Classic Thunderbird Club International Concours, August 2011 1956 Thunderbird Original. It has won three National Antique Auto Club of America awards for historical preservation of original features in 2012-2015-2016. These awards will go with the vehicle and registered to the new owner when they join AACA. It is easy to tell that this car has spent most of its life in a dehumidified and climate controlled garage/room due to the lack of paint fade that you would normally expect on a 61 year old all original acrylic paint car.
You will find under dash Vintage A/C installed by Roger Lewis Makeover in 2014, Town & Country Signal-Seeking AM radio, Thunderbird special automatic transmission, convertible top, removable hardtop, Swift Sure power brakes (rebuilt power brake booster), Ford’s Master Guide power steering, 4-way power seats, back up lights, power windows, windshield washers, telescopic wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, white wall tires, factory original Ford simulated wire wheel covers (5 included with original continental mounted spare tire kit), all original trunk mounted jack with accessories and original owner’s manual. This Thunderbird is extremely well equipped and everything works! Even the 12v electric clock still works on this car. It is fully loaded with both tops with hardtop carrier stand. You will find a rare padded dash which was an option back then that is hard to find. It is also equipped with accessory lights and engine dress. This car is beautifully optioned and a rare ownership opportunity.
Whether you are looking to add a beautiful original Thunderbird to your collection or you’re looking for your high school or college car. This one is sure to be one of the finest examples you will find. Please don’t miss this opportunity to own one of this quality.
