Only 2 owners on the awesome little German sports car. She comes loaded with traction control, paddle shifters, CD player, M-Sport seats wrapped in leather, lumbar support, sunroof, and Z rated Michelin tires. The E46 M3, first introduced in October 2000, appeared worldwide with the new 3.2 L S54 M-tuned engine. It was only available in coupe and convertible bodies as the saloon version had been dropped. The E46 M3 was offered with a standard 6-speed Getrag transmission, but optionally came with a SMG drivelogic transmission. This is the standard 6-speed Getrag transmission with an electrohydraulic actuated clutch (no clutch pedal). Shifts are made via the SMG gear knob or the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The engine had a redline of 8,000 rpm. As with most M engines, the S54 again had 6 independent throttle bodies and this time electronically operated throttles.

In the U.S., the E46 M3 came with similar engine output as the European version, unlike in the E36, whose engine was derived from the M50/52 series engine. Power was now at 333 HP due to close-coupled catalytic converters closer to the engine exhaust ports. In 2009, Road and Track magazine announced the 2006 M3 with the SMG transmission as its favorite sports car of all time.

2002 BMW M3

2002 BMW M3

Engine: Supercharged 3.2L L6
Transmission: SMG Manual/Automatic
Mileage: 64,518 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a stunning 2002 BMW M3. BMW's M cars are world renowned performance vehicles based on standard BMW models. Perhaps the most well known is based on the 3 series: the M3. M3's have set the standard for performance sedans since the late 1980s. The e46 generation has become one of the most popular generations because of its silky smooth 3.2 Liter Inline 6. From the factory the 6 banger was good for 333 Horsepower. In factory trim, they're great fun to drive and extremely comfortable as well. This particular e46 has been upgraded for performance with an Active AutoWerke supercharger kit. This kit includes a Rotrex supercharger, a front mount intercooler and fuel system upgrades. With these upgrades, the estimated horsepower is around 500. Needless to say, this is a healthy bump from stock which means it's just that much more fun to drive. This M3 has the optional SMG2 transmission which is a manual transmission which has multiple manual and automatic modes. This transmission is great for the driving enthusiast who likes the feel of shifting a race car. That said, there are automatic modes that make it just as easy to drive as any old automatic. In addition to having some awesome performance, the M3 is also a handsome vehicle to behold. The sharp looking body is covered in a rare factory color: Laguna Seca Blue. Inside the upholstery is in Dove Gray which is in nice shape. Overall this is a very nice high performance vehicle which could easily be driven daily. Whether you're a Bimmer nut, or you just want a sharp fast car to drive to work, this M3 would be a great fit. You can see this 2002 BMW M3 in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 618-271-3000 or stl@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

1998 BMW M Roadster

1998 BMW M Roadster

Engine: 3.2L I6 F DOHC 24V
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Mileage: 28,689 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this awesome 1998 black BMW M Roadster. The BMW M Roadster was designed to be the performance version of the BMW Z3, and there were significant differences between the two variants. The body of the Z3 M Roadster had a few differences compared to the standard Z3 models. These included front and rear bumpers, gills, boot and mirrors. Under the skin many of the components were beefed up with the rear suspension being derived from the E30 M3 and the front suspension and brake system being taken from the E36 M3 Evo. Based on the E36 platform, the Z3 Roadster was considered the E36/7 platform. The M Roadster could run a wider track under the flared wheel arches as well as wider wheels and tires to try to tame the increased power. Standard tire sizes for the M Roadster is 225/45r17 at the front and 245/40r17 at the back. The low offset of the rear wheels allows plenty of flexibility to increase the rear tire width. A dual exhaust system fed each set of three cylinders to two dual tailpipes. The Z3 M roadster was the first BMW to feature this quad exhaust design which has since become a BMW M division signature. The interior had a different look to the standard Z3, including making the sport package M-version steering wheel standard on the M and including different instrumentation such as an oil temperature gauge. Finally, the car was available in M-specific colors which were not released for the regular Z3, at least in the early production years (not counting BMW's Individual program). Early cars featured ABS as standard. ASC traction and stability control also became standard equipment on US-market cars in 1999 and in 2001 M roadsters worldwide were upgraded to BMW's DSC traction control system. The Z3 was facelifted, but in common with other BMW M vehicles, the M roadster's appearance was not updated. In the 5 years from 1998 to 2002, approximately 15,000 M Roadsters were produced for both European and North American markets. This is compared to the 300,000 standard Z3s produced in the same time frame. This makes them very rare and highly desired by car and performance enthusiasts. This beautiful example of a 1998 BMW M Roadster has been meticulously taken car of by the 4 previous owners. The car has lived almost the entirety of it’s life in Texas. With only 28k original miles, this car has a long fantastic life ahead of it for the next lucky owner. This vehicle comes with all 4 factory keys, the owner’s manual and every receipt from the previous owner going in and upgrading things such as: new Stewart water pump, thermostat and metal housing fan, the seat bushing have been replaced, driver seat lift kit, passenger not installed, clear marker lights, and Cosmo tower strut. Options for this awesome M Roadster include: A/C, AM/FM radio, cd player, automatic top, cruise control, heated seats, power windows, power brakes, power locks, power seats, anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags, seat belts, leather interior, and aluminum alloy rims and radial tires. This 1998 BMW M Roadster is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. 1988 BMW M6

1988 BMW M6

Engine: 3.5L I6 F DOHC
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual w/ OD
Mileage: 45,782 ( actual )

For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this classic 1988 BMW M6. It is powered by a 3.5L/256hp inline-six engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This is a beautiful example of a rare BMW M6. Values on M6’s are constantly increasing from year to year. Currently they are still affordable but who knows how long before they become a six-figure collectible car. Engine sizes gradually increased to 3.2-liters then 3.5-liters, but the 6-Series really hit a bullseye with the M635CSi, which appeared at Frankfurt in 1983. Apart from the 282-bhp M1 engine, it had a limited-slip differential and the “track link” suspension from the big 7-Series sedans, which was designed to reduce oversteer. ABS brakes arrived at the same time, along with a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed ZF automatic. Badged simply as the BMW M6, the 635CSi finally reach the U.S. in 1987, lavishly equipped with twin air-conditioners (and a beverage chiller in the rear), hand-stitched Napa leather interior with eight-way power front seats, and an eight-speaker sound system. Distinctive M6 details included M badges front and rear, a larger front air dam and rear spoiler, and matching color side mirrors. The cars were fitted with new ellipsoid headlights, which directed a more precise beam onto the road. The M6 could manage 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds, a quarter mile in 14.7 seconds and cruised easily at 140 mph. It retailed for $55,950. BMW electronically limited even its sportiest models to 155 mph in the U.S., but Rug Cunninham BMW ran a de-limited M6 in the 1989 La Carrera Pan American race in Mexico and reported a top speed of 176 mph. In all 5,859 M 635 CSi cars were built between 1983 and 1989, with 1,787 of those being the slightly detuned U.S. model BMW M6. The Original Wheels and Exhaust are available with this vehicle.
